4: The Valley or Magic Isle, Maui is the center of Maui County. At one time, the islands of Maui, Lanai, Kahoolawa, and Molokai may have been one large island. The shallow ocean between these islands is the perfect breeding area and nursery for humpback whales. During the height of the whaling industry, Maui was the focal point.

10: The Big Island is nearly twice as big as all of the other Hawaiian Islands combined, and growing every day. All but two of the world's climatic zones exist within the island. Madame Pele makes her home in Kilauea Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes on earth, also designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

21: Kauai - Known as the Garden Isle, Orchid Isle, or Chicken Isle, Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian islands. It is home to Waialeale, one of the wettest places on Earth, the Waimea Canyon, dubbed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, the Na Pali Coast, and waterfalls and white sand beaches featured in music, film and tv.
