S: Joe & Carrie's Honeymoon - New England 2011
10/14/2011: The start of our honeymoon. Sacramento International Airport at the new terminal B! We were ready for the east coast, but was the east coast ready for us?!
 Boston, MA 10/15/2011
 Where everybody knows your name...
The drive from Boston, MA to Westerly, RI. Beautiful!
Misquamicut Beach, RI. This was the beach we could see from our condo. Quick walk and we were there, feet in sand!
Sunday 10/16/2011 | Westerly, RI | Just a short walk and we were in CT!
 Mystic, CT | Monday 10/17/2011
Providence, RI 10/18/2011 | H.P. Lovecraft's grave. I think it was the high light of Joe's day! The grin says it all!!!
State capitol in RI. Beautiful city and great architecture. Below: Joe and I sitting at the end of the river walk that runs through downtown Providence.
 The drive to Newport...
Just a small part of Newport. It was getting dark and we didn't see too much but we did go back later!
Wednesday 10/19/2011 Watch Hill, RI. Cute little town. "Closed for the Season" was the common theme. Our only rainy day, wet but fun!
Mystic Seaport | With the rain we decided to go back and revisit Mystic, CT. | Blue Squid, Historic Mystic | Best grilled cheese w/ lobster. Also great cupcakes!!!
After Mystic, Ct Joe wanted to get some sand from a CT beach. So we found Dubios Beach in Stonington, CT quite by accident.
We also found a really cool lighthouse. The Stonington Harbor Light House was established in 1823. We climbed up to the top. Not to high but the steps were steep! Cold, wet and gray, what a day.
Thursday 10/20/2011 | On our way to Cape Cod. Just some of the beautiful scenery we came across. Long drive but so worth it!
Hyannis and Barnstable, MA. Established in 1639. Home of Splanky's Clam Shack. Joe got is lobster roll and I had a clam strips roll. So good and a great view from out table.
Memorial for President Kennedy on the Lewis Bay Waterfront.
Kalmus Beach, Great beach, lots of wind but surprisingly warm water. We rolled up our pants and had a blast. Found seashells, Sandpipers and horseshoe crab shells. Met a seagull in the parking lot which Joe had to feed and invited all of his seagull friends.
Friday 10/21/2011, Newport, RI. Here we come again! Our last full day in New England and we had to see the mansions!
The Breakers Mansion. A cottage built by the Vanderbilt's. Absolutely beautiful. We couldn't take any pictures inside which was a bummer but the grounds were beautiful.
The Marble House. Beautiful, eclectic & unique. Also by the Vanderbilt's but totally different from the Breakers.
On our way back home from Newport. Saw some beautiful homes, a black sand beach and the most gorgeous sunset. Goodbye Newport!
I told Joe to go in the corner to take our last picture in the condo and he took my words literally. Below are some wonderful views from our balcony. What a wonderful place to stay!
Just some of views from our car on the way to the airport. Finally saw a bit of the "colors" that New England is so famous for this time of year.
Joe waiting in Boston, MA airport. Notice the ring. I love looking at it. Sad to leave New England but so happy to get home and see Gracie Lu. Now only 7 hours to go!
