BC: The End

FC: Hubert the great | by Danielle Reich p.6 10/20/12

1: Hubert lived as a water molecule in the sky all his life. He was a very sad water molecule. He dreamed to be an ice sickle, it's all he's ever wanted. Each time it rained, he wished and wished that somehow he could get close enough to the clouds to be able to rain on the world, but his atoms were just too spread out to become liquid or solid.

3: One day, there was enough heat in the air to push poor Hubert to a cloud above him! He couldn't believe it, his wish was coming true as he was condescending into the clouds.

5: Something strange started happening to Hubert the water vapor molecule. His tiny little gas molecules pulled closer together than before and he was transformed into a liquid water molecule! He was so excited.

7: The next day, the clouds had so much water in them that they had to let it all go onto the earth. It rained and rained and as it did, little Hubert went with all the other water molecules onto the planet. He landed in a cold place called Alaska. He was so lucky to have landed in the coldest state in America. He landed in a gutter of someones house where he waited and waited for it to become cold.

9: As predicted, the temperature soon dropped. Huberts atoms pulled even closer together than before, now they were tightly bound together. Hubert was freezing. He linked his atoms to several other molecules and they're atoms began to freeze too. Hubert was now an ice sickle, like he'd always wanted.
