"I just finished building a bridge to the moon. I started last August, and ended this June. I used giant branches, a few million rocks, unbreakable cables, and billions of blocks. The walls on my bridge are a marvelous sight.. They’re safe and secure, and they light up at night. The nails are nailed in, and the screws are screwed tight, but something is wrong here! This cannot be right! The moon isn’t orange! It isn’t that bright! The moon doesn’t give off this powerful light! I have to keep building! This bridge isn’t done! For I have just noticed; it leads to the sun!" | Derren Sardelli, bridge to the moon

These lines come from Darrel Sardelli's poem, "A Bridge to the Moon." I think that all poems can be interpretted differently, and this poem is about a man building a bridge to the moon and finding out it's the sun. I think that this symbolizes the feeling you get when you try to do something to make a good situation out of a bad one and you end up way in over your head. To me, this definately seems like a satire, even if it also seems like a children's poem. The author uses alot of hyperboles trying to capture the effort it took to "build a bridge to the moon," saying things like, "I used giant branches, a few million rocks, unbreakable cables, and billions of blocks." I think that the author means to show just how impossible it was to build this bridge. I think it is a very successful poem, it made me laugh to read it and it made me think about how sometimes, even when you try your hardest, things don't go the way you planned. But, in it's own special way, I think that that's just life doing us a favor.

This newspaper article is about an attorney actually suing himself by accident. I think this showcases human weakness with hilarious situational irony; a lawyer is supposed to be smart and he makes a very dumb mistake! The post definitely made me laugh and I definitely can understand blond moments <3

This is a picture from a Burger King commercial that sports Ronald McDonald in a trench cote ordering BurgerKing food! This is another example of situational irony because not one would expect McDonalds very well known mascot to be at the rival fast food joint! The author's point is to show that even RONALD MCDONALD like Burger King better than McDonalds, they're marketing their business. I think it was very effective, it certainly made me laugh.

"Beyonce thinks that I'm cute..It's okay Beyonce, I think you're cute too! I made out with so many girls. Made out with every girl in the world! I might look small, but I'm not. I don't care if you're big, I'll fight you a lot..You know that I am the baddest of them all If you ain't 'bout money, then I don't mess with y'all.Y'all think I don't get girls, cause I ain't very tall If she see my stacks, I bet you that she calls! I have four hundred cars. I have four hundred scars and four hundred guitars.I have four hundred houses! I have four hundred mouses and four hundred houses! Bet you I can dance better than you.. I bet you you don't know two plus two It's four! It's four! Now go and shut the door" | This is a funny rap called "Baddest" by Krispy Kreme. In the song, he's trying to convince listeners that he is really cool so that they will buy his rap CDs. In the example is a hyperbole, used to describe how awesome his life is. It makes me laugh everytime I hear the song and I love it <3

This is a funny, cool greeting card I found on the internet. I think the authors perpose was to entertain the viewer. It is riddled with sarcasm, just the way I like it. :) I laughed out loud when I saw it, so for me, it's affective :)

This is a comic strip I found online. In the comic strip, it starts out with two people, one upside down, both of them generously complement one other. Then you find out all along it was just one person looking into a spoon talking to himself. I think this displays dramatic and situational irony. I think the author wanted to inform other people about how he felt about himself while entertaining them. Very good, very effective for me. <3

This is me and my Gramma <3 When I was little, she used to tell me to "brush my hair and comb my teeth" and i think thats a spoonerism.

This is just a cute little b it I found on Tumblr. the authors perpose was to entertain and he used malapropism to do it, showing how when a woman said "organ" (as in heart, etc.), the man thought she meant the instrument.

This is just a cute little greeting card I found where someone is wishing someone a happy birthday and saying that they're not old. It's witty and puny, and the comedy is definitely effective. Author's purpose; to wish someone a happy birthday,

See all my awesome pretty backgrounds? ;D I worked really hard on this assignment.. please give me a good grade! :) LeAnna~
