1: Definition Hurricanes are defined as tropical cyclones with winds greater than 64 knots.

2: Formation Hurricanes are formed by low pressure that moves along with the westerly winds. They are most likely formed over tropical waters and in order for it to form, the water needs to be 80 degrees.

3: Damage Hurricane Andrew was one of the most powerful hurricanes of the century. With 150mph winds, houses and buildings were severely damaged and crushed

4: Deaths Hurricane Andrew had 26 deaths and over 1 million people were evacuated from there homes and villages.

5: Safety Precautions In order to survive a hurricane storm, you need to build a emergency kit, make a family communication plan, learn community hurricane evacuation routes and find high ground.

6: Predictions Yes hurricanes can be predicted and the predictions are very accurate.

7: Location Hurricanes are more likely to be found above tropical waters. The water needs to be 80 degrees for the evaporation to create a hurricane.
