FC: In Our Own Words...
Sis, Margaret, Grandmother, Mom, Throughout the years, we have all watched you relentlessly put others before yourself. You have been there for every member of this family no matter the circumstances and bent over backwards to insure the happiness of us all. Having you twelve hours away was without a doubt the biggest struggle in all of our lives, for someone we relied on so heavily, was now half a day away. However, no distance and no amount of traveling could keep you away from the people who loved you most at home. It is quite easily said that you made every effort to drive to and from to take care of your mother, and support your family, and the amount of appreciation we owe you will never fit into this book. On the other hand, this book is a mere example of our love and gratitude to a person who has done so much for everyone but herself. This Christmas, instead of a gift bought in stores, we wanted to create this book to show you how special you are to each and every one of us. Our hope is that you will read each letter and take into account how truly appreciative we are for everything you have done. This is our memories, thoughts, and thanks...in our own words. -Ashley & Kristin Christmas 2011
My Very Best Friend YOU ARE SO SPECIAL TO ME Margaret Lykens is without a doubt my very best friend. There are not enough days in the year to celebrate all the wonderful things you are. You're someone I look to who's always there to hear me out, forgive my faults, and say just the the I need to hear to make me laugh.
Margaret you remain a constant in a world of change, someone that I have turned to many times to remember for your good heart and sound judgment. You are someone I know will be as true tomorrow, regardless of what is going on in your life or mine as you are this very day. Margaret Lykens is person I admire and have the utmost love for. I absolutely have the utmost respect for and I absolutely think the world of you. It would take an eternity to celebrate everything you have been and are to me. Margaret, please always' remember, I'm forever grateful to know you and to have you in my life. I shall always remember your kindness, to Bob, the great times you, pastor Bob and I have had together. It is such a pleasure to worship with you, for when we worship together, I see the glow of the Lord always coming from your countenance. Your eternal friend, Alma B. Hammond
My perfect Sister In-Law Since I am not much of a writer, this will be rather short, but heartfelt non the less. My brother's wife is like a sister to me. She has helped me through some of the most difficult times of my life. She has helped me with a very serious problem I have, helped me with my business affairs, and made sure things were in order for me when it is my time to leave this world. She is so patient, loving and caring. She has recently spend hours with me, trying to help me cope with life. You can tell she loves the lord and is so willing to help others. If I could have picked a wife for my older brother, Margaret would have been my perfect choice. I love you Margaret, and you will never know how much you mean to me and are always there when I need you. Your Brother In-Law Bill
MY DAUGHER IN-LAW Margaret Lykens is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. It is a pleasure to have her as a daughter In-Law. When she married my son, I knew I didn't have to worry about him, because Margaret is so loving and kind. She has been with me through three surgeries, and has taken the best of care of me that I could ever expect. She has helped me with my personal business affairs and has always done an exceptional job. She always seems to care about what is going on in my life and at the age of 86 she is a constant help to me. Since I have a difficult time getting around as well as I used to, she has taken me Christmas shopping, pushed me in a wheel chair and taken care of things that I could not have other wise done. She has talked with my doctors to make sure I understood what they were saying, and that has taken a tremendous load off of my mind. Since God chose to give me two sons, Margaret has become the daughter I never had. I love you Margaret and appreciate all you have done for me Ruth N. Lykens
