FC: Jenna's Ice Cream Summer
1: The Challenge Nadia and I visited many ice cream stores between July 19 and Sept. 3rd, 2011. The idea was to visit stores around the Vancouver area to see how different they were. We looked at the number of flavours, seating, decoration, uniqueness, cleanliness and friendliness. Then we rated them.
2: Rating 9/10 | Date: July 20 Place: Gelato Express Address: Gallant Ave., Deep Cove, North Van # of Flavours: 46 There is a train that runs throughout the shop and another store. Outside there is a statue of a little boy digging in a big ice cream cone. There are rainbow chairs outside and on the railing there is a train track. There are many chalkboards with colourful writing and the store people are very nice. You can sit inside or outside. At the inside bar there is a large window, open to the street.
4: Date: July 22 Place: Deep Cove Ice Cream Cafe Address: Deep Cove Road # of Flavours: 43 It was very clean. They were helpful and friendly. They had a flying pig hanging over the entrance and Japanese lanterns for lighting.They had rainbow wallpaper and blue chairs with pink tables. Other: There were chunks of ice in the ice cream and the cones were small. | Rating 6/10
6: Date: July 29 Place: Granville Island Shop Address: Granville Island Market # of flavours: 18 | We went on the Hop On Hop Off bus. The man gave us a tester. The shop was outside. | Rating: 5/10
8: Rating: 10/10 | Date: Aug 1 Name: Pinkberry Address: Village at Park Royal, West Vancouver # of Flavours: 4 with lots of toppings It was very clean there. They had yummy toppings, like Rollo, strawberries, Coffee crisp, etc. It was very expensive but worth it. The tables were blue and pink and it was a nice place to sit.
10: Date: Aug 16 Place: Cows Address: Whistler Lower Village # of Flavours: about 30 | The ice cream tasted kind of funny to me. The chunks of cookie dough were disgusting.The shop smelled really bad. I did not like it at all. In the store it had clothes too and a big fat cow with black dots. | Rating: 1/10
12: This is my journal. My dad bought it for me in Whistler. I love it! The store which I got it from is Ruby Tuesday. My journal cover is made from leather.
13: Date: Aug. 19 Place: White Spot Address: Park Royal South, West Vancouver # of Flavours: 3 I had a Pirate Pack. It was yummy. Ice cream was part of the Pirate Pack and I also got a chocolate coin. I chose chocolate over strawberry or vanilla. It was good. Rating 8/10
14: Date: Aug 26 Place: Purdy's Chocolates Address: Park Royal South, West Vancouver # of Flavours: 8 I like Purdy's. I had sprinkles on top of my mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was clean. Rating: 9/10
15: Date: Aug.29 Place: East Side Mario's Address: Lonsdale Quay, North Van # of Flavours: 1 | The three mini ice cream cones came with my dinner. They were yummy.The colours were pink and orange. Rating: 9/10
16: Date: Sept.1 Place: Amato Gelato Address: 78 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver # of Flavours: 72 | The place had a lot of choices. There were lots of decorations on the walls. It was very clean and presentable. The seating was inside and outside. The gelato was fantastic. I had cookie dough flavour. Rating 10/10
18: Date: Sept. 2 Place: Brazza Gelato and Coffee Address: 879 Marine Drive, North Vancouver # of Flavours: 56 | It was horrible. Bubba said, " It's old and way past it's sell-by date." It was gooey and disgusting and I do not recommend it. Rating: 0/10
