S: Lake Tahoe - February 2011
FC: Lake Tahoe, February 2011
The Lake Tahoe trip was a "dudes' trip" that the girls decided to crash The whole crew was Tom, Kathy, Tim, Amanda, Claire, Chris, Ben and Jen.
Mornings at the Pool | Claire's first time swimming with water wings, she was a fish!
Hanging out in the hotel rooms - Grandma and Grandpa brought lots of surprises to keep Claire entertained...and there were lots of beers to keep the boys hydrated
At one of many dinners T$ "comped" us all during the trip.
Grandma, Amanda, and Claire went on a beautiful sleigh ride. Our horse, Major, was pretty silly and needed to stop to eat snow every 5 feet!
Snow started falling the day before we arrived. When it was all said and done Tahoe had been dumped on, 7 feet of snow in three days. The road conditions required chains, but the mountain conditions were great, especially in the trees.
Yes, the snow really was this deep.
And on the third day the skies cleared.
Dinner at one of the Tahoe Breweries. It took awhile to get a table, even with our VIP, T$, in tow.
Claire and Amanda showing off their impressive talent | Claire, learning how to "T$."
More fun at the pool | More fun at the pool | Marco. | Polo.
Claire had fun playing in the arcade, but her Harley riding days were cut short when she fell off the hog and bonked her head
The girls took the gondola up the mountain one day to meet the guys for lunch
Claire tested out her snowboarding legs - Tim thinks she's ready to hit the slopes.
The 2011 Tahoe snow riders - Jen was pregnant but still managed a few solid days of skiing.
It wouldn't be an Ikeman vacation without Claire falling asleep in the middle of the fun!
In the grand tradition of the Doobie Brothers and George Clinton, Murs performed at Montbleu on Sunday night. Tim and Chris got tickets to the show. Too bad they didn't know Murs was staying right across the hall until after they had already bought their tickets.
Lunch at another Tahoe Brewery on the way to Reno, home of the World's Largest Calzone.
Once the snow stopped we were able to take the chains off the tires.
Claire trying out her accommodations in Reno. | Our room overlooked the National Bowling Stadium.
We spent a lot of time at Circus Circus where even Claire could get in on the gaming action.
We said goodbye to the wild west with a delicious dinner at Harrah's Steakhouse. Captain Oz made sure we were well taken care of.
We're all looking forward to many more ski trips in the future!
