Visual | The novel shows how much the girls grow through their life, they take major maturity steps throughout the book.

Reading Journal | pg.3 "We've got father and mother and each other." I can relate to this quote by past experience. I lost my grandmother three years ago and thought my life couldn't possible be any worse. This quote is important to the novel because it shows us that we have to cherish what we have. The sisters start realizing that they may not have everything they want but they have everything they need. This quote is important to me because i have had selfish times and really had to realize all the great things i do have in life and that is family.

Reading Journal | pg. 51 "Now marmee, that is very cunning of you to turn our own stories against us, and give us a sermon instead of romance." The girls had many different reactions to it. Jo took this as a negative speech from her mother about her struggles. Beth took in what her mother was telling her and really listened to the critisism. My reaction would be similar to jo's at first. I wouldn't pay attention to what my mother was really telling me, but i would soon realize that she is trying to help me.

Reading Journal | pg.211 "Mother and father both gone, and God seems so far away, i can't find him." Beth is very ill and Jo is having a hard time watching her baby sister lying helplessly. This quote shows Jo's love for her sister. She just wants what is best for her sister. This quote is important to me because I've had to watch one of my family members lie there helplessly. I felt like God was no where near and wasn't hearing my prayers. My family helped me through it and so did Jo's family.

Reading Journal | Pg. 91 "It's my dreadful temper! I try to cure it, I think i have and then it breaks out worse than ever." Jo has a problem with opening her mouth before she thinks. Her hateful words come from her quick temper that she has a hard time controlling. I can relate to this because i used to have a quick temper with my sisters. I had to learn to bite my tongue when i was angry. Jo really tries hard and improves her quick temper.

Reading Journal | pg.252 A tall man appeared, muffled up to his eyes, he tried to say something but there was a stampede by his loving daughters. This paragraph caught my eye because they have waited to see their father for such a long time. They finally have their father time just in time for Christmas and thats all they have ever wanted. If that was me and i haven't seen my father in a long time i would be hysterically crying. I would be so overwhelmed and thankful for having my father safely home.

Reading Journal | pg. 466 "Flo and I have got a new name for you; 'It's Lazy Laurence.' I can relate to this quote because We had a nickname like this on my cheerleading team.We had a girl that didn't have a very positive attitude. We nicknamed her "Negative." This helped other people realize how their attitudes affect other people. Laurence realized how lazy he was being and changed his attitude.
