FC: Meet Tappan & Amy
1: Hi! We are Tappan & Amy. Thanks for stopping by to meet us!
2: Dear Birthmother, We thank you for taking the time to get to know our family. We want you to know all about us and even more that we are ready to add to our family through adoption. We can't wait to meet and share everything about our lives with a new little baby! A little bit about each of us...Tappan is an oil and gas production engineer who enjoys being outdoors and working on projects around the home. He is excited to share his love of outdoors like camping and hiking with the baby. He is a wonderful father to our daughter Lauren. He is patient, fun, and a great role model. Amy is a stay-at-home mom to a two year old little girl, Lauren. Amy loves cooking, reading, yoga, and being outdoors. She can’t wait to teach the baby to read and to cook her favorite meals with him or her. Last, but not least, Lauren is our 2 year old daughter. She was placed in our family two years ago through the blessing of adoption. She is a fun, spirited girl who is really ready to be a big sister!
3: We live in a suburb of a large city in the mountains. We are in the best school district in our area and have many parks right at our fingertips. One is right behind our house! We also have a pond within walking distance with ducks, geese, and paddle boats. We walk to the pond and park a lot to get outside and play. We are busy doing activities every day of the week like play group, swimming lessons, soccer, and gymnastics. Both sets of grandparents are about 7 hours away, but we see them often by traveling to each other or video chatting online. They can't wait to have another grand baby to come visit and share lots of memories with. Our brothers are both married with children. Amy's brother lives 20 hours away and has 4 kids. Tappan's brother lives an hour away and has a new baby. Both siblings are excited to welcome a new little baby in our family and for the cousins to meet each other and play together! We hope the time you spend looking at this book gives you a feel of who we are and what kind of parents we are and strive to be. We promise to provide a safe home, unconditional love and support, and do the best job as parents we can do! Sincerely, Amy and Tappan
4: We met in kindergarten and were even "boyfriend and girlfriend" in 6th grade. Amy moved away with her family in junior high, but never forgot Tappan. Many years later, Amy & Tappan met at a friend's wedding. Amy said "Hi" to Tappan in her cute Texas accent and that was the beginning...We dated long distance one year then we moved to the same town. We were married a few years later.
5: We have been married eleven years. We are each other's best friends! We encourage each other, have fun together, and never forget to laugh! Our favorite thing is to spend time with our little girl, family, and friends. We also like being outdoors, watching movies, and working on projects around the house.
6: Amy is a caring, lighthearted, and patient person who likes to make everyone feel welcome. She enjoys the simple things in life like spending time with friends, eating a good meal, and being outside on a warm day. For 11 years, Amy was a English & History junior high teacher. She has "retired" for now and is staying home with Lauren and hopefully a new baby soon! They enjoy keeping busy going to the library, having play dates with other friends, and going to parks, museums, and the zoo. | Hanging out with college friends | Amy's girlfriends are excited to meet a new baby and watch our families grow together | Amy's playgroup friends

A lot of activities we do on the weekend revolve around our daughter and our friends' children like going on a sleigh ride to meet Santa or going to the aquarium. Our friends are very supportive of our plans to adopt a new baby and are as excited as we are to have a new addition to the family!
