Table of Contents | My Mother's Kitchen Poem..............................pg.2-3 Where I'm From Poem.......................................pg.4-5 Self Respect Poem...............................................pg.6 Language Arts Poem.............................................pg.7

White cabinets cover the walls The tiles clean and shining the counter is free from balls the kitchen is so clean it's blinding Mom comes in with her apron All happy and smiley She's ready to cook Oh! Get ready it'll get wildly She takes out the green lettuce Rip it to bits Turns into confetti And made tea with it | My Mother's Kitchen

The dead chicken is out So white and plump She shoves it in the oven It's stuck like a stump she chops some vegetables uneven of course she baked cinnamon roll They're hard like ores. The kitchen is a mess Luckily mom took a rest She walks over to dad And said “Time to clean up, lad”

I am from fish sauce from Golden Boy and Viet Huong. I am from the where a brilliant color of red can be seen from the horizon. I am from the Cherry Blossoms, the sweet scented pastel pink that flows with the wind I am from where the sight of red envelopes is a good thing and where drinking and smoking is our “drug” , from Tommy Le and Abu Hoang and Minh Huynh . I am from the judgment of grades and comparison between family. | Where I'm From

From eating all your rice is a must and bowing for an elderly. I am from where Buddha can help you go through life with his many words of wisdom. I'm from where beaches roam around the coast and where seeing a person dying is just part of a routine, Pho and Banh Mi. From the stealing of cars can sentence you in prison with your wife, the overdoses of Heroin, and the Cancer that didn’t let him survive. I am from where a small house filled with people can be the fondest memory you can have.

Sometimes I act like an idiot, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I make mistakes, sometimes I won't. Depend on your expectations, I might even prove you wrong. It really just depends on if you're worth it. I’m not (the average) gossip you blurt from your mouth. And I ain't what you would want me to be. But I learned how to be myself and not care what you say Because I am who I want to be. I’m not gossip you blurt from your mouth. My worth is not determined by my face or body. No matter what I look like, I will always be me. | Self Respect Poem

Oh Poetry! Oh poetry! I don't like you very much. The language is old and very confusing, even your words are not that amusing. I see you in book and I see you in essays! Don't come near mer or it's gonna get messy. Oh poetry! Oh poetry! I don't like you very much. Your stories are weird. They're too hard to understand. I rather go out and play in the sand I know! I know! It's a part of writing. But to be honest, I rather go hiking. | Language Arts Poem
