98: A year ago I could not have even told you what the four points of the Miss America crown represented. Now not only can I recite these four words, but I can truly say I have loved 358 days living and breathing these four words into my life. “Style, scholarship, service, and success”. As Miss Gainesville's Outstanding Teen I have been given opportunities that I never dreamed possible. Through Children’s Miracle Network Hospital fundraisers I have witnessed hundreds of thousands of dollars raised to help save childrens' lives. The events I have enjoyed most have been ART day at Shands of Gainesville and UNF Dance Marathon. At these events I have been honored to meet many CMN children and parents and hear their stories. These children have forever changed my life and are the reason I love this organization so much. I would like to thank all the many sponsors and volunteers of the Miss Gainesville scholarship program. Without your hours of hard work and numerous donations, I would not have had this past year. A huge contribution to my success goes to Scott and Paige Jones. Not only, have you spent hours on my choreography, rehearsals, and wardrobe, but you have been a main part of my growth and maturity. Dancing at the Scott Jones School of Dance for the past 15 years has taught me many life essentials and shaped me as the well rounded person I am today. To my wonderful family, you are the reason I stand here today. To my daddy, thank you for all of your support, you are my source of laughter through the stressful times. To my mommy, you are my inspiration and my driving force. You have never pushed me to do anything I didn’t want to, but the second I say I’m ready to do something you go straight to work helping me in every way possible. Both of you have also showed me that my biggest thanks in life will always be to God. No matter how many doors close another will open. And God will lead you in that path.
99: To my sister Bailey, you keep me down to earth, while still being one of my biggest supporters. To my God mother Aunt Robin, you will always be my number one cheerleader. Your support during my pageants has only been a glimpse of your support throughout my life. To my four amazing grandparents and wonderful extended family, you are the ones who make me feel so honored with every award I receive... you're the loudest and proudest of my cheerleading squad! To my sunshine princess, Brooklyn, it has been so much fun to take you on appearances and mentor you for this past year. Through everything we have made a more special bond as cousins and I cannot wait to see you on a stage like this very soon. Through every experience this past year I have grown closer to a new family. To my teen sister queen Lindsey; we have grown so close being able to experience everything together. To Kasey, you always lighten the mood and make everything more fun. To my Momma G, DK, I have been so proud to be your teen and have such a confident and successful role model to inspire my own dreams. I would also like to thank Laura Beard; you are very much a part of my team Gainesville, and I can never thank you enough for all of your advice and wisdom. One of the best weeks of my reign was cheering on my misses, Diana, Kasey and Laura. I love you guys. To my wonderful director, you have been the key to my success. Without your guidance I would not have been fortunate enough to place 4th Runner- Up at Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen. This year has definitely been a crazy one- most evident by you living with me for a week. But it just goes to show how, as a director you become so close with each of your titleholders. I love you mommy Mer, and Holly too! To the next Miss Gainesville’s Outstanding Teen, I will share with you the same advice Myrrhanda gave me, it isn't about filling the shoes from before you; this title is yours now and all you need to do is shine your own light on this year's crown. Take advantage of every opportunity you are given and always follow your dreams.
