S: Our Memories from 2011
FC: "Family is the link to our past and the bridge to our future."
Like branches on a tree, we may grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.

Celebrating Drew's 4th Birthday in Wisconsin Dells
Enjoying Northside's Rollerskating Party with "The Triplets"

The Celtic Pub Crawl in Monroe to Celebrate St. Patty's Day
Macey & Drew loved their 1st trip to Busch Gardens and visiting their cousins in Florida.
After Tampa, it was off to Sarasota for a few days hanging out with their other grandparents at a couple beautiful beaches.
The sand at Siesta Key was so soft! After a full day in the sun with 110 SPF, they decided to end the adventure cooling off at the Siesta Key Oyster Bar.
 Final Stop ~ Sea World
Signs of Spring . . . Easter Eggs
Macey's Very First Research Report 1st Grade with Mrs. K-D
Instead of participating in "Love Madison" with the Blackhawk congregation, Deb's family decided to show some love and appreciation in Monticello for the local volunteer fire department. They baked lots of yummy treats and made each firefighter a thank-you card. | When Macey & Drew delivered their tokens of appreciation, the kids were the ones in for a huge surprise; Ron Blumer gave them a full tour of the station, including climbing in the trucks and testing some of the equipment. He topped it off by getting in his gear so the kids could see that scary-looking firefighters are just normal people.
Fellow Blackhawk members, red-heads and Monticello residents; Kevin, Denise, Anyka and Tait Swanson
Dinner & Dancing with Great Friends
May was a month of firsts for Drew!
Kicking-Off Summer with the Millers at Cadiz Springs
To help celebrate Macey's wonderful year in 1st grade, Deb took her to the Taylor Swift concert in Milwaukee the day summer vacation started.
While the girls were enjoying the concert, a terrible storm was blowing through Monticello, so Brad & Drew spent most of the night in the basement. In the end, their house was without power for 25 hours, but only four deck boards were damaged and the kids loved playing in "the crazy jungle" before Brad fired-up the chainsaw.
This was the second year Deb has helped chaperone the Washington DC trip with the 8th graders from Monroe Middle School. It's a very busy, but fun week for her!
Vietnam War Memorial | White House | JFK's Grave | Arlington Cemetery | A Student's T-shirt | A Rainbow out the Hotel Window | Dave & Buster's | Air Force Memorial | Iwo Jima | Ford's Theater (where Lincoln was shot) | The Potomac River | The Wharf on Washington's Estate | Gettysburg | The Bus Ride Home | FDR Memorial | Our group at the US Capitol
Enjoying Father's day on the beautiful lakes of madison with the cassidys
Here's the Gift They Made for Brad
During the Star Spangled Celebration weekend, we ride Harley all day and go to the concerts at night.
Macey and Drew took full advantage of the chance to ride the Gator that was at our house during the landscaping project!
Mace had definitely outgrown her little princess bike, so after Brad lost a bet to her that she wouldn't dive off the board, this was her reward!
Spending a day at the Middleton Aquatic Center with Jane, a friend and colleague of Deb's from her days at the DOT.
Keokuk has so many things to love . . . 1) Visiting Relatives 2) Boating on the Big Miss' 3) Eating Yummy Food 4) Watching Fireworks 5) Playing Cards 6) Swimming
Macey & her cousin, Analiese, showing off their new manicures:) | There were lots of hugs and kisses to go around on their last night together. | Matching Jammies for the Girls; Priceless | Matching Jammies for the Girls; Priceless
We don't think Drew liked watching his sister ride her new "big-kid bike" while he was still using training-wheels. Just a couple weeks after Macey got her new bike, he asked Deb to take his training wheels off. In less than 2 minutes and on his very first try, Drew was riding all by himself down the sidewalk. I think all the neighbors were just as proud as he was!
 Another Fun Monticello Homecoming
You might have lived in Monticello during the 80's if you remember . . . 1) Going to the sales barn on Monday nights and the arcade during breaks from the pool 2) Santa making an appearance after our Christmas concerts with a bag full of yummy treats 3) Hokie's Place, Village Tap & the Western Aire Saloon 4) When the pool used to be next to the police station and it flooded all summer long with dirty river water 5) Goebli's Gas Station and gas under 99 cents a gallon 6) Going to Rose Wittenwyler's house first during trick-or treating because you knew she made the best popcorn balls 7) Candy cigarettes from Woelffer's Drugstore 8) Decorating our hallways during Homecoming Week to try earning the coveted Spirit Stick 9) Playing "behind the wall" during recess 10) The alphabet people in kindergarten *Unfortunately, these pictures are not from the 80's

 The Annual Trek to Rhinelander
Indian Trails near Pardeeville with the Fishes
To show Drew how proud everyone was of his hard work learning to swim, a chopper ride with Dan Bauman was arranged on the day of his last lesson. One hour in the field being Dan's "right- hand man" was definitely a highlight of Drew's summer!
Lovin' Little Amerricka with Nolan & Pawel
Getting Ready for the 1st Day of School | Drew - 4K at Abe Lincoln; Macey - 2nd Grade at Northside; Deb - 11th year at MMS
The Day Jack Sold His Last 10 Tractors | Not sure how John and Jeri felt about it, but Macey and Drew were so sad to see the tractors go! Drew couldn't stop watching, and Macey sat in the garage at home and cried. | Now that's a good wife; letting her hubby win the final race. (They weren't really racing - but it made for a cute picture!)
There's no question who Drew's best friend in Monticello is . . . "Jack" John Wendler, even with 65 years between them, is the first person Drew wants to see everyday when he gets home. On a daily basis he says, "Can I ride my bike down to Jack's?" or "I want to wear work-pants like Jack does. I don't care if I get hot!" or "I need to go watch Jack mow." Luckily, Jack seems to like Drew just as much!
Our first time at Miller Park and first Brewer Game in more than 20 years!
There aren't too many things they enjoy more than swimming with one of their uncles!
We polished off the birthday trip to Milwaukee with a visit to the zoo.

They say grandchildren are your reward for not killing your own kids. Hopefully you feel like that's true most days! Thanks for everything you do to pour out your love on us! Merry Christmas & Love Always ~ Deb, Brad, Macey and Drew
