FC: MONTREAL | 2011
 Montreal August 26 & 27, 2011
We stayed at the Saint Sulpice Hotel, situated right behind the Notre-Dame Basilica - a great location. | Had we seen this detour sign we could have arrived sooner, and not toured Old Montreal by car.
A great room with a murphy bed and separate bedroom. Also a kitchenette and private terrace.
The seven year old ordered Escargot - and ate it all.
A street performer at Place Jacques-Cartier.
 The Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal.
The Basilica was located right next to our hotel.
Behind Notre-Dame Basilica is the Chapelle du Sacré-Cur (Chapel of the Sacred Heart).
After the Basilica we went back to the hotel to catch our ride to the Hop On Hop Off bus tour.
On our way to the Casino de Montreal we passed HABITAT 67 built for the 67 Expo which consists of 154 units that are composed of prefabricated concrete cubes assembled on site.
 Maddies Photo Page
A little shopping and lunch at the underground shopping mall.
Our next stop was St. Joseph's Oratory, a Roman Catholic minor basilica and national shrine on the west slope of Mount Royal in Montreal.
The city of Montreal from Mount-Royal Park.
de Pointe-a-Callire's 18th Century Public Market, a festival to experience what shopping at the market was like 250-some years ago.
We had dinner at The Keg Steakhouse and Bar.
Self portrait | Dinner with a view!
After dinner we went for a carriage ride in Old Montreal.
While on our carriage ride we stopped at the 18th Century Public Market so Ellen could buy a few more bottles of wine to take home.
More street performers at Place Jacques-Cartier.
Hurricane Irene was heading up the east coast so at 8:00 pm we decided to head home, instead of wanting until morning. We had planned on staying until mid afternoon. Maddie was asleep before we reached the boarder.
