FC: My Life in Guatemala 2006-2009

1: In 2006, I accepted a teaching position at an international school called Colegio Maya, in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The three years I spent in the country, changed the course of my life forever. I had many adventures, learned loads of new things, and met some pretty remarkable people. This book is a photo diary of the time that I spent living there. 4: On to Lago de Atitlan where we stayed at Casa del Mundo in the middle of the lake.

5: This lake is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world, and it is not hard to see why.

6: Chichicastenango is the largest market in Guatemala (and quite the tourist trap)

7: Guatemala has many active volcanoes, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to climb one! This is Volcan Pacaya...

14: November 1 is Todos Santos, in San Juan Sacatepequez, they hold a festival featuring giant, handmade kites...

16: For Thanksgiving, Malka came to visit me and we went to Monterrico | baby sea turtles!

18: At Christmas, Mom and Sam came to visit! | Someone dressed as a tamale and Pepto Bismal driving around Guatemala City... | We went to the zoo in the city

19: First stop on their visit, Rio Dulce

20: Stopping for lunch on Christmas Eve then on to... Tikal!

22: We might have taken a wrong turn on the way to the temples...

23: No joke, the sign said "no pooping" Temples of Tikal

24: Climbing temples is fun! | Even if a little scary...

26: On the way out, we stopped for souvenirs and met some very cute kids | Interesting ferry ride in Sayaxche, and very scary trip through the mountains

27: In Coban! | Exhausted after the trip from Tikal, first item, coffee plantation tour!

28: Took a tour of an orchid plantation and Sam made a friend!
