FC: London 2011
Krista, Amy and me at DIA and the airport in D.C. before taking off for London, England! | It was a 3-4 hour flight from Denver to D.C., and then another 7 hour flight to Heathrow airport in London.
Krista and me on the longest leg of the journey! Accompanied by the "scrumptious" in flight meal. | We watched Tangled, and The King's Speech (just in time!) We didn't get much sleep because we were too excited about our impending destination.
The first shot of our first London sunrise. | The sun is getting bigger and bigger. | And there she is. :)
Kirsten, Monica, Amy, Marissa, and me at Heathrow airport. | All were tired and grumpy, but happy to have arrived!
Straight from Heathrow, we're loaded onto our coach, Coach 2, to go to our hotel, and then onto our hotel to drop off our bags, but we only had a few minutes before we were on our way to the center of London and The Tower of London!
Tower of London and outside Buckingham Palace!
It was cool to learn that the guard changes in military precision time on a set schedule! They are dressed in their colder weather uniforms.
The MidEvil feast was very fun! There was live music, dancing, and dueling. | Unfortunately, the food wasn't the best. We filled up on juice and bread! | The suits of armor outside the establishment were a nice touch. | I got my picture taken with Henry VIII! What an honor :)
All of the cool kids on Coach 2 guided by our lovely tour guide, Suzannah!
Our first outing the next day was to Hampton Court, home of Henry VIII. Gorgeous architecture and Gardens!
The beautiful gardens at Hampton Court! All the flowers were in bloom, and it was a wonderful cloudy day.
The Choral Performance at Hampton Court | Camerata and Bella Voce singing under the direction of Darin Drown.
Later after Hampton Court, we were given the night off. So, my fellow Harry Potter "enthusiasts" and I went to Kings Cross Station to see the platform where it all started.
The next day, we awoke and took a very long two hour drive...
...to Stonehenge! This place is full of inspiring magic and spirituality.
And then it was off to Bath! This place was probably my favorite because of how gorgeous it was, and all the history there.
 Jane Austen Museum!
Our other Harry Potter moment came the next day when we got to see the shaky bridge from HP 5! It was quite an experience! And right across the Thymes from the Globe Theater!
And then it was on to St.Paul's Cathedral! And yes, we DID sing Mary Poppins music on the steps.
And then the Grandview High School choirs, band, and orchestra got to perform in a historic house in England!
We had a lot of fun roaming around London! So much shopping, so little time. | We were surprised to learn that everything closes rather early in London... | We got to stand exactly where Hermione did in HP7!
And then it was off to a ferry ride on the Thymes! We got some great pictures on the dock next to Big Ben!
And the coolest thing was probably the London Eye! We were so high up and it was a lot roomier and more spacious than we expected.
Standing on the Prime Meridian! In two hemispheres at once :)
Nana, thank you for an amazing trip! I will never forget it :) | London 2011!!
