FC: My Story
 By Lani Bourgeois
Chapter 1 The rain poured out of the sky like the tears falling from my eyes. My head ached and my eyes were swollen from the anguish I felt in my heart. "How could my parents do this to me?" I thought angrily. I stared out of the window as the city past us in a blur. The lights and sounds began to fade behind the car and out of my sight. I looked back over the seat of the car as my whole childhood vanished over the hill. "Don't look so glum sweety, I promise it won't be half as bad as you think!" my mom half sang at me from the front seat. " Yeah, thats what you think!", my thoughts sounded sharp even to me. I was automaticaly glad that I didn't say my thoughts out loud. Even though my parents were dragging me across this vast country, I didn't want to make this hard for them. The last thing I wanted to do was to hurt my parents. I settled down into the soft back seat and found on my favorite song on my ipod. I laied my head back against the seat and closed my heavy eye lids. The song pulsed in my ears as if were a part of me, like my heart beat.
It soothed me, and I began to slowly drift to sleep. The music began to fade as I fell deeper and deeper into unconscienceness. I was sucked into a dark state of dream. That was when I had my first | nightmare. The one that would lead me to him. The dream started with me standing on the front porch of an old Victorian styled house. I'm facing away from the house, into a field of wild flowers with a forest on the outline. The forest behind the field began to smoke, and the stench burned my nose until I was choking in the fumes. That is when he would appear from the forest. A boy my age, engulfed in fire. His tall burning figure walked across the field, destroying the beautiful flowers. His movements were so graceful, it seemed he were floating
towards me. I begin to sweat from the heat and in a blink of my eyes he is in front of me, his dull brown eyes cutting straight through me. As if he could read my very thoughts, he touches my hand. To my surprise it does not burn me, but sends a shock of freezing pain throughout my body.
I tried to let go, but he pulled me closer to his body. The flames circling around us. His body freezing me, but the flames grew higher despite the cold. His eyes glaring at me. They periced through my skin and through soul making me feel limp in his arms. His smile danced across his face, spreading from ear to ear. I tried to push away from him, but it was like I was tied to him. His smile grew wider with my panic and pain. My body became rigid from the cold and I gave up. He leaned down into my hair and wispered, "Its ok, I will never hurt you."
Chapter 2 "We're almost there sweety." my dad shook me softly while my mom was in the convienence store buying gas. I was awake but i was pretending to sleep. How could I sleep knowing that he would be there, with his cold fire caressing me. After that dream there were more. Almost every night I would have that dream, my dreams began to slowly disapear and be replaced by this nightmare. My mom skipped across the parking lot, and flung open the passenger side door. She passed my a Mountain Dew and a bag of Doritos from the front seat. "Thought you might want something to eat kiddo. We're going to stop at a resturant in Kansas in
about 30 minutes to eat." she barely wispered. She was very tired, her eyes drooped with sleep. She quickly slumped down in her seat and fell asleep. This was the first time that I looked at the outside senery. It was very bland; their was no lights just trees. The sky was grey and the clouds were rimmed with | silver, were the sun hid behind it. The gas station was very run down and rugged. It was in serious need of paint, and it only had one pump. The car lurched forward, and we were off again. Mom slept and dad hummed old show tunes. I fummbled in my bag for my ipod and quickley turned it on. "In your eyes"
by The Used was the first song that was on. I love my parents but as any other teenager, I find them annoying at time.
