Thank you for taking the time to look at our adoption profile. We hope these words and pictures give you a bit of a window into our life and our hope to expand our family through adoption. We appreciate your openness and courage to consider an adoption plan for your baby and would be happy to talk with you more if we seem like the right fit for you. 4: About Us We met through a friend 7 years ago and haven't looked back since! Our life together has been full of adventure and fun and we know the challenges and beauty of a committed loving relationship. Friends and family are central to our lives and we are fortunate for all that we've been able to experience together. We take pride in the fact that we have careers we love and are passionate about and that we believe in giving back to our community through volunteering. | We enjoy traveling, playing with our dog, exploring the city, backyard BBQ's, going to concerts of all kinds, movies, theater and ballet performances and spending time with friends and family. Evan has two adult children (he was a teen parent and has a special appreciation for how challenging that can be) and a grandson, Riley, who we love dearly. | We have been looking forward to adding a child to our family through adoption for many years and can't wait to spend time as a family of three doing activities such as vacations, swimming lessons, exploring the Pacific Northwest, trips to the zoo and aquarium, snuggling on the couch reading books, celebrating holidays and playing together for hours!

We live in a comfortable two story home about twenty minutes from Seattle. The best thing about our neighborhood is that our cul-de-sac is filled with fantastic neighbors! We love spending time outside in the summer with the kids, adults and pets playing, relaxing, chatting or having impromptu parties. Our neighborhood is culturally diverse which is important to us. We are close to a great park and the elementary school is a quick two block walk away. We love that we have a great home that's still close to the city and take many opportunities to regularly explore all Seattle has to offer - great food, museums, concerts, scenery and events! We enjoy visiting the farmer's market in the spring and summer and of course going out for Seattle's favorite beverage - coffee! | Our Home | Cul-de-sac fun! | Backyard playing!
We have three furry members of our family. Dickens and Mardi are our two cats and Zeus is our dog. They get along well with each other and kids. Zeus was a rescue dog and we've spent lots of time helping him to get over his fears from his past living situation and teaching him fun tricks. He's learned to sit, shake, high five, kiss, lay down, go upstairs and turn around! He even responds to the command "Watch TV!" While the cats are more homebodies, Zeus loves to ride in the car, especially if it's to the dog park where he can run around and fetch a ball. | Our Pets | Mardi | Dickens | Zeus
TOGETHER FOR | 7 | YEARS | JENNIFER & EVAN | We love taking time together to explore the adventures life has to offer both in our neighborhood and across the country. We are thankful for all we've been able to experience and can't wait to share it with a little one. | High Tea in Victoria, BC

About Jennifer - by Evan | Jennifer is one of the kindest most loving people you will ever meet. She's a Seattle Native, growing up in the city. Jennifer attended private school through high school before going away to college in Washington D.C. and then gradate school in Massachusetts for a Masters degree in Social Work. Jennifer uses her education to help children, families and adults as an individual and family therapist. After Hurricane Katrina, she volunteered in New Orleans helping families cope with their devastating losses and to rebuild their lives. Jennifer has two young sisters and enjoys spending time with them whenever she can. She likes spending time with all kids - her sisters, the kids in our neighborhood and our grandson, and is very much at ease talking and playing with them. Jennifer has many hobbies including knitting, painting, and sewing. Music, travel and reading are also passions of hers. She's made several things for friends and it always impresses me when she does things like knit a sweater for a baby. I can't wait for her to be a mom, she will make a fantastic mom and look forward to being a parent with her.
I have always loved children and teenagers and known that I wanted to be a parent. I began babysitting in junior high as many people do and then in high school and the summers home from college I had a job at the Boys & Girls Club as a childcare provider/camp counselor. During grad school I realized that one of my passions is helping kids and teens who have been through difficult times and I began focusing on working with them. Since 1999 I've been working providing counseling mainly to children, teens and families and I'm thrilled that I get paid to do something I'm good at and can make a difference in the world. I've been fortunate to work with many kids who have been adopted at all different ages and in different ways (internationally, in the US, open adoption, closed adoption, foster-adopt etc). Some were even going through the adoption process at the time we worked together and I've seen first hand how amazing adoption is. | Jennifer's thoughts on Kids and adoption...

About Evan - by Jennifer | Two of the first things you will notice about Evan are his sense of humor and caring heart. Whether he's donating his time to a cause he's passionate about like support for those going through cancer, or playing with our dog, Zeus, his tender side comes through. Also a Seattle Native, he loves fishing and the outdoors and won't pass up the opportunity to get out his golf clubs, bowling ball or softball mitt. He's great with computers and is the go to guy for all of our friends' tech problems. His favorite hobby is photography and wherever we go he's getting plenty of photos to document our fun times. He even started a business in his free time doing photography and regularly shoots events and performances -I'm lucky to have his art gracing the walls of our house! And he's a great cook! I'm proud of Evan for having pursued his college education as an adult and for taking so much pride in his career. Evan has two adult children who he loves dearly and he's greatly enjoyed raising them. I love watching him with our grandson and the kids in our neighborhood. He's lighthearted, patient and full of joy when interacting with them. I know he's been a great father to his kids and I can't wait to parent with him!
I am looking forward to sharing my love for the outdoors, art, and adventure with the child that joins our family. Spending time on the water, fishing, swimming, taking pictures. Going to museums and helping them learn about the past through their own eyes and mine. Going on trips to places near and far. I am looking forward to instilling a value system that will help them grow as a person and have a productive happy adult life. | Evan's Hopes for Parenting

Friends and Family are central to our lives. Both of us have many friends that we've kept throughout the years, frequently talking with pals from grade school, high school and college. It's fantastic to have friends locally and around the United States that we can visit and have visit us! We enjoy spending time with friends and family whether it's just getting together at home or going to local events. We have many traditions which include going to the fair in the summer, taking a family vacation to Eastern Washington and visiting the pumpkin patch at Halloween. We have a number of friends who are adopted or have adopted children and it's been great to experience first hand how amazing adoption can be! | Jennifer's Family | Shelby, Jennifer and Evan in Oregon | Evan and Emma | Friends & Family | With Kim, Chelsea, Shelby & Blair in New Orleans | Kelly and Evan | Visiting Juan, Liz & Kristen in Hawaii
December is especially exciting as we always make sure to get in our favorite traditions such as decorating gingerbread houses, baking Christmas cookies, going on a holiday boat ride around Lake Union to see the decorated houseboats and a drive to see holiday lights! Maybe the best part about our traditions is that 99% of the time they include our friends and family - our motto is the more the merrier! Our family lives in the area and are excited to help us celebrate the milestones of our child's life. | Jennifer's sisters and Zeus | Emma at Christmas | Gingerbread houses with Emma | Evan and Jeff | With high school friend Denise
OH THE PLACES WE'VE | TRAVELED | 1 | Victoria, BC | One of our first trips together for Jennifer's Birthday | Traveling is one of our favorite things to do in our free time be it a quick jaunt to the beach, a day trip to the mountains or an adventure further from home! We've explored Mexico, Hawaii, California, Nevada, Louisiana, British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, Indiana and Florida together. Jennifer's mom was a flight attendant for 38 years and she had the opportunity to take many trips throughout the world when she was growing up, which is a tradition that we would like to continue with our own child someday! We look forward to many more adventures in the US and abroad in the future - Our dream trip is a photo animal safari in Africa and we look forward to experiencing that as a family! | Los Cabos, Mexico | 2
