2: Major Blue Lions can't capture shootout, loses 9-8 to PR White Six hits weren't enough for Majors Lions as it lost a shootout, 9-8 in five innings, to PR White on Saturday at Peachtree Ridge. The Major Blue Lions jumped out to an early lead, but it was unable to hang on. PRYAA Minors Lions was up until the fifth inning, but PR White had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on an error. Major Lions jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Reagan Howell started the rally for the Major Lions with a single. A few plays later, Riley Hudson stole home. More runs came home for PRYAA Minors Lions when S scored. PR White answered PRYAA Majors Lions' top inning with three runs of its own in the first. PR White scored on a steal of home by PlayerA, a fielder's choice, and an error. After posting three runs in the second, PRYAA Majors Lions again scored three in the third. In the second, PRYAA Major Lions scored on an error, plating Samy Zambrano. PR White matched its three-run fourth inning with three more in the fifth. 3: Major Blue Lions take out North Gwinnett Red, 11-7 Major Blue Lions beat NG Red 11-7 in five innings on Wednesday at George Pierce behind Riley Hudson, who went 3-3 at the plate. She homered in the fourth inning and singled in the second and fifth innings. Ellie Bozzone got the win for Major Blue Lions. She allowed four runs over 1 2/3 innings. She struck out three, walked three and surrendered one hit. Major Blue Lions never trailed after scoring three runs in the first on a steal of home by Reagan Howell and two bases loaded walks. It didn't take long for NG Red to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the first. NG Red scored on a walk by PlayerC and a steal of home by PlayerD. Major Blue Lions brought home three runs in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the second, Major Blue Lions scored on a steal of home, scoring Ellie. One run in the bottom of the second helped NG Red close its deficit to 6-3. A steal of home by PlayerG set off NG Red rally. Finally, Ellie got PlayerI to strike out to end the threat. Major Blue Lions piled on two more runs in the top of the third. Payton West started the inning with a double, bringing home Madison Strange. Two NG Red runs crossed the plate in the bottom half of the third, making the score 8-5. A groundout by PlayerC and an error sparked NG Red's rally. Finally, Reagan induced an inning-ending from PlayerE. After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fifth, NG Red faced just a 11-6 deficit. A steal of home by PlayerJ gave NG Red life. Reagan got the last out, as NG Red's PlayerD struck out. On defense, Riley had a nice grab at 3rd and Reagan's quick throw to first. 5: Major Blue Lions cruises past Norcross Blue, 11-5 Norcross Blue didn't stand a chance on Saturday, as Major Blue Lions captured a blowout 11-5 win in five innings at Peachtree Ridge. Major Blue Lions scored four runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Payton West, a fielder's choice, a steal of home by Maddie Bozzone, and a steal of home by Jennie DaSilva. The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with seven lead changes. Major Blue Lions pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. A steal of home by Maddie gave Major Blue Lions the lead for good. Madison Strange went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Major Blue Lions. She singled in the first and fifth innings. Madison got the win in relief for Major Blue Lions. Madison pitched two innings and allowed one run. After a quick strike from Norcross Blue, Major Blue Lions responded with one run in the first. Major Blue Lions scored on an RBI single by Madison. Major Blue Lions didn't give up the lead after the third inning. Additional runs came from two bases loaded walks. Major Blue Lions built upon its lead with two runs in the fourth. A steal of home scored Reagan Howell to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up with a steal of home by Riley Hudson. The Lions had some heads up defensive plays with the tag by Maddie getting the runner stealing second from the throw by Riley. Payton throwing for the force out at 2nd to Ellie. 6: All-around effort leads Major Blue Lions past Norcross Red 9-5 Riley Hudson carried Major Blue Lions to a 9-5 victory over Norcross Red on Friday at Peachtree Ridge with a strong game at the plate and on the rubber. Riley had a hot bat for Major Blue Lions. Riley went 2-2, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the first and third innings. Norcross Red couldn't get anything going as long as Riley was pitching. Riley held Norcross Red hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four. Madison Strange got the win in relief for Major Blue Lions. Madison pitched three innings and allowed two runs. In the top of the first, Norcross Red grabbed the early lead, 3-0. The Norcross Red attack began with a single from PlayerA. A stolen base then moved PlayerA from first to second. Norcross Red pushed more runs across when PlayerB scored on a walk by PlayerF and PlayerD scored on a walk by PlayerG. Major Blue Lions answered Norcross Red's top inning with three runs of its own in the first. Major Blue Lions scored on an RBI single by Riley and a two-run single by Emily Male. The lead stayed with Major Blue Lions after the second, when it scored three runs on two singles and a walk by Reagan Howell. One run in the top of the third helped Norcross Red close its deficit to 6-4. A steal of home by PlayerE fueled Norcross Red's comeback. Major Blue Lions stopped the rally after Madison got PlayerI to strike out. It didn't take long for Major Blue Lions to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the third. Major Blue Lions scored on an RBI single by Riley, a groundout by Emily, and a groundout by Jennie DaSilva. A one-run fourth inning helped bring Norcross Red within four. 7: Major Blue Lions best Collins Hill in shootout, 17-9 Scoreboard operators were busy at Collins Hill on Tuesday as Major Blue Lions and Collins Hill combined for 26 runs. Major Blue Lions eventually won the offensive battle 17-9 in five innings. The two teams combined for 20 hits in the game. Major Blue Lions blew out Collins Hill one thanks to 18 hits, including two extra base hits. Major Blue Lions scored five runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Samy Zambrano, a two-run triple by Payton West, and an RBI single by Jennie DaSilva. The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with five lead changes. Reagan Howell got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed four runs over 1 2/3 innings. She struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit. Major Blue Lions easily handled Collins Hill one pitching as seven hitters combined for 18 hits, 10 RBIs and 17 runs scored. Collins Hill one quickly matched Major Blue Lions' strong inning with a three-run inning of its own in the first. Collins Hill one scored on a steal of home by PlayerA, a passed ball, and an RBI single by PlayerF. Collins Hill one scored three runs of its own in the third. Collins Hill one scored on an error, a single by PlayerE, and a steal of home by PlayerE. Major Blue Lions added four more runs in the top of the fifth. Samy singled, scoring Madison Strange and Reagan to start the inning. That was followed up with a walk by Maddie Bozzone. Defensively, Reagan Howell threw out the second batter in the first inning followed by Maddie catching a fly ball at 2nd. Ellie, Riley, and Madison fielded groundouts or pop outs in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Jennie threw out a girl from SS in the 4th and Samy caught a line drive in the 5th. 8: Major Blue Lions outlast Lanier in high-scoring affair, 11-9 Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as Major Blue Lions outscored Lanier 11-9 in five innings. The teams combined for 14 hits, including three extra base hits. The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with 12 lead changes. Reagan Howell recorded the win for Major Blue Lions. She allowed four runs over two innings. She struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits. The top of the first saw Lanier take an early lead, 2-0. A two-run blast by PlayerD, bringing home PlayerC started the inning off. It didn't take long for Major Blue Lions to respond as it scored three runs of its own in the first. Major Blue Lions scored on a steal of home by Reagan, a steal of home by Jennie DaSilva, and a bases loaded walk by Carol Raye. Lanier got two-run rallies in the second inning and the fifth. In the second, Lanier scored on a groundout by PlayerA, plating PlayerI. After a quick strike from Lanier, Major Blue Lions responded with three runs in the second. Major Blue Lions scored on an error, an RBI single by Reagan, and an RBI double by Jennie. Major Blue Lions scored two runs in the third inning, one run in the fourth (Madison knocked in Caroline). In the third, Major Blue Lions scored on an RBI triple by Samy, bringing home Reagan Howell, then Samy was brought home by Riley. In the fifth, Maddie scored on Samy's single and Reagan scored on a fielder’s choice from a ball off the bat of Jennie. It didn't take long for Norcross Blue to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the third. Norcross Blue scored on an RBI single by PlayerC and an RBI single by PlayerD. Norcross Blue answered Major Blue Lions' top inning with one run of its own in the fourth. Norcross Blue scored on an RBI double by PlayerG. It didn't take long for Norcross Blue to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the fifth. Norcross Blue scored on a groundout by PlayerE and a steal of home by PlayerD. Norcross went ahead in the sixth with a hard hit double by Player D scoring the runner from 2nd. Defensively, Payton and Samy combined for a nice throw down and tag at 3rd base. Reagan stopped a hard hit ball and controlled it to get another out at first. Pitching did well with 9K's. 11: Major Blue Lions makes the most of 4 hits in 6-4 victory over NG Black Both Major Blue Lions and NG Black put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was Major Blue Lions that was able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-4 win at Bunten. NG Black got five hits compared with just four for Major Blue Lions, but NG Black stranded nine on base. Payton West racked up two RBIs on two hits for Major Blue Lions. She doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning. NG Black's lineup had no answer for Riley Hudson. Riley held NG Black hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out four. Major Blue Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Samy Zambrano singled to ignite Major Blue Lions' offense. Reagan Howell then stole home. Major Blue Lions pushed more runs across when Jennie and Samy scored on a two-run double by Payton. NG Black tied the game in the third on a steal of home. Major Blue Lions went up for good in the fourth, scoring three runs, one by Carol Raye from a RBI single by Madison Strange and two steals of home by Riley and Payton. The Blue Lions struck out 8 and held them to 5 hits while only striking out 6 times and getting 4 hits. Defensively the Lions had ground ball put outs by Samy and Ellie, fly balls caught by Riley and Madison. Major Blue Lions brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the third, Major Blue Lions scored on an RBI single by Riley Hudson, scoring Samy Zambrano. Defensively, there were several put outs by Payton W, Payton H, and Maya. There were 2 long throws by Samy from third for outs at first, and a nice throw by Kate to Jennie at third for a tag out. | Major Blue Lions offense too much for Norcross Red in 12-2 rout Major Blue Lions jumped out to an early lead on Norcross Red and captured a 12-2 victory on Thursday at Norcross. Seven runs in the first three innings allowed Major Blue Lions to put the game away early. A steal of home by Reagan Howell, a walk by Jennie DaSilva, and an error during the first inning and an RBI double by Payton Hicks, a steal of home by Payton Hicks, and an RBI single by Kate Deal in the second inning fueled Major Blue Lions' offense early. Major Blue Lions closer Madison Strange put away the final six outs to record the save. The game's last lead went to Major Blue Lions thanks to a first inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an RBI single by Samy Zambrano and two bases loaded walks. Major Blue Lions added two more runs in the top of the second. Payton West kicked things off with a single, scoring Reagan. Major Blue Lions tacked on another three runs in the third. A bases loaded walk scored Madison to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Maddie Bozzone's single with bases loaded, bringing home Kate Deal and Reagan Howell. One Lanier run crossed the plate in the bottom half of the third, making the score 8-3. A groundout by PlayerE fueled Lanier's comeback. Madison ended the inning by getting PlayerG to strike out. The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to six lead changes in the game. Major Blue Lions took the lead in the fourth inning and held on for the victory. A walk by Emily Male scored Ellie Bozzone and gave Major Blue Lions the lead for good. The top of the first saw Collins Hill two take an early lead, 2-0. Major Blue Lions finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. A steal of home by Samy Zambrano. Samy racked up four RBIs on three hits for PRYAA Major Blue Lions. She singled in the first and third innings and homered in the fourth inning. The top of the first saw Major Blue Lions take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Samy, plating Reagan Howell started the inning off. Major Blue Lions then tacked on more runs when Samy scored on an RBI double by Payton West and Payton scored on an RBI single by Ellie Bozzone. Collins Hill two pushed two runs across in each of the first, second and fourth. In the first, Collins Hill two scored on a walk by PlayerF, scoring PlayerA. The Major Blue Lions scored five runs in the fourth, starting with a 3 RBI double into right field with two outs by Maddie Bozzone. Followed by a home run to left off the bat of Samy, plating Maddie Bozzone. The explosive inning gave the Lions the lead for good. After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fourth, Collins Hill two faced just a 10-6 deficit. A bases loaded walk by Madison and an RBI single by PlayerG triggered Collins Hill Green's comeback but fell short from time being called. Reagan Howell, Riley Hudson, Madison Strange, and Ellie Bozzone tallied six strikeouts and walked five in completing the no-no. Riley brought the heat against PR White during her outing. Riley held PR White hitless over one inning, allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out one. The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with several lead changes. Riley paced the Major Blue Lions at the plate. Riley went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. She doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
