FC: Poems by Catherine Cuartas

A Special World A special world for you and me A special bond one cannot see It wraps us up in its cocoon And holds us fiercely in its womb. Its fingers spread like fine spun gold Gently nestling us to the fold Like silken thread it holds us fast Bonds like this are meant to last. And though at times a thread may break A new one forms in its wake To bind us closer and keep us strong In a special world, where we belong

An Entrapment My love, I have tried with all my being to grasp a form comparable to thine own, but nothing seems worthy; I know now why Shakespeare could not compare his love to a summer’s day. It would be a crime to denounce the beauty of such a creature as thee, to simply cast away the precision God had placed in forging you. Each facet of your being whether it physical or spiritual is an ensnarement from which there is no release. But I do not wish release. I wish to stay entrapped forever. With you for all eternity. Our hearts, always as one.

So Long For Now You look so peaceful lying there With your hands folded upon your chest. You look like you are sleeping But you are at eternal rest. So Long For Now. Not a hair out of place, Your make-up nicely done, A beautiful smile upon your lips - For now you are with Absalom. When someone special passes on It does not mean they are gone, Though they are no longer with us Their memory still lives on. It hurts so much to lose a friend - Especially one that is trustworthy and kind. Lucy, you were that special friend, A rare and special find. Lucy, you will always be with me In spirit and in mind. You will always have a special place in my heart Forever until the end of time. Lucy, I will not say "Good-bye". This is not the end. So I will just say, "So long..." Until we meet again.

Daughter to father poems . A Little Girl Needs Daddy poem A little girl needs Daddy For many, many things: Like holding her high off the ground Where the sunlight sings! Like being the deep music That tells her all is right When she awakens frantic with The terrors of the night. Like being the great mountain That rises in her heart And shows her how she might get home When all else falls apart. Like giving her the love That is her sea and air, So diving deep or soaring high She'll always find him there

My Miracle Mother Mom, I look at you and see a walking miracle. Your unfailing love without limit, your ability to soothe my every hurt, the way you are on duty, unselfishly, every hour, every day, makes me so grateful that I am yours, and you are mine. With open arms and open heart, with enduring patience and inner strength, you gave so much for me, sometimes at your expense. You are my teacher, my comforter, my encourager, appreciating all, forgiving all. Sometimes I took you for granted, Mom, but I don’t now, and I never will again. I know that everything I am today relates to you and your loving care. I gaze in wonder as I watch you being you— my miracle, my mother.

My Sisters My sisters I just can’t live without Sometimes they bug me Sometimes they hug me Before as children we use to play Today we have our own ways I will always have a big sister I will always have a little sister Although sometimes I wish I was an only child I don’t know what I would do without my sisters Having sisters means I will always have a friend As I look back on memories of my life I remember my sisters and all the times we had together As I look up to my older sister My younger sister looks up to me Through good times and bad We will always stick together I love my sisters dearly and I could not see my life without them

MY BROTHER When I think about my big brother One word stands out above all the rest Love I have a special bond with him that I share with no other We finish each other's sentences Can make each other laugh with just a look Another word that comes to mind is Adoration I was the little sister that would follow him anywhere When he turned five and went to school I would sit on the swing and wait right there Until he finally came home Now that we're older and somewhat wiser Another word that comes easily to my mind is Respect I respect the man that he has become The difficult choices he's had to make And I never thought it possible But I love him all the more
