2: The English Sonnet The English sonnet, also called the Shakespearean Sonnet, is a 14- line poem with 10 syllables per line. It is called a Shakespearean Sonnet not because it was created by William Shakespeare but because he is said to have perfected the original structure of a sonnet. It's rhyme Scheme is: ABAB CDCD EFEF GG.

3: A Wet World of Love That day, it was in the rain that we met, It was in the rain that we fell in love, We held hands in the rain, stood soaking wet, In the rain that you so soon got sick of. I can't blame you, dearie, we were just kids, I feel joy looking back at our days, Lies to moms and the fluttering of lids, We had known they'd say it was just a phase.... And it was, for you, but I still stand here, I stand here in this whole new world you made, But don't worry this world is full of cheer, This world will not die, this world will not fade. That rainy day, you made the world of me, And each day there is more and more to see.

9: Tatamkulu Afrika Tatumkulu Afrika was a South African poet/ writer. He was born in Egypt December 7, 1920. He died on December 23 in 2002. His first novel, Broken Earth, was published when he was 17 years old. | He He did not have any other published work until 50 years later. His next published work was a collection of his poetry called Nine Lives. For his poems he received many literature awards such as the Molteno Award. In 1996, his collection was translated into French. Lastly, 4 years after he died his unfinished autobiography was published. I chose this poet because despite the fact that he only had three works published, two of which were before his death, he was still an esteemed poet with so many awards
