FC: Voter Registration by: Lauren Bailey
1: To register to vote in North Carolina you must meet the following criteria: Be a US Citizen. A resident of North Carolina. Must be a resident of the county for at least 30days prior to voting. Must be at least 18 years old or will be by the next general election. Must rescind any previous registration in another county or state. Not be convicted of a felony.
2: Ways to Obtain a Voter Registration Form: Online In Person: Hand deliver completed form to your local Board of Elections. Register in person at one of the following: Work First, WIC, Food Stamps, Medicaid, Services for the blind, Vocational Rehabilitation, NC Protection & Advocacy Agency, Employment Security Commission, DMV offices, Libraries, Public Schools. By mail/in writing By Fax
3: Obtaining an Absentee Ballot: You may fax or email your request to your County Board of Elections. One-stop absentee voting or early voting. Request by mail. Military and Overseas must complete the Federal Postcard Application online.
4: I feel that it is best to be proactive and go ahead and register to vote as soon as possible. I went ahead and did it when I got my drivers license. I also feel that voting is very important. If you do not vote then you do not have the right to complain about who gets voted into the position.
