FC: rock cycle By:Danielle Reeves

In this book I am going to explain the rock kinds and cycle

Igneous rock-it is formed deep inside the earth or at volcanic sites. Its composition depends on the type of rock that was melted to make it.The texture depends on how the magma cooled.Examples of Igneous rocks are granite, basalt, obsidian. It can be used as a surgical blade,in road constructions,or for counter tops.

Igneous rocks can be changed to Sedimentary rocks by weathering and/or erosion.Igneous rocks can be changed to Metamorphic rocks by adding heat and/or pressure.

Sedimentary rocks can be changed to Metamorphic by adding heat and/or pressure. You can change Sedimentary rocks to Igneous rocks by melting.

Sedimentary rock forms from layering of broken pieces of rock that hardens into new rock.As these grains pile up,the sediments in the lower layers are squeezed together. Its composition depends on the type of rock that was broken down. Its texture depends on the size and shape of the grains.Examples of sedimentary rocks are sandstone, limestone, and chalk. It can be used for coal trains and headstones.

Metamorphic rocks forms from squeezing and/or heating other rock particles. This causes the rock to morph. Its composition depends on the type of rock that is being heated and squeezed. Its texture depends on how he minerals are arranged.Examples of Metamorphic rocks are graphite and marble. It can be used for slate roofing, statues, and pencil lead.

Metamorphic rocks can be changed to Igneous rocks by melting. It can also be changed to Sedimentary rock by weather and/or erosion.
