S: Searching for Christmas 2012
FC: Searching for Christmas
We're all busy searching this time of the year For all sorts of things as Christmas draws near What are we hoping to find as we look Maybe the answers are here in this book....
We're looking for Bethlehem, a town far away And a dusty, dark stable with a stall filled with hay
And up in the sky on that long ago night A star shone for all with a very bright light
Out in the hills that surrounded the town Shepherds awoke to the light shining down And heard angels sing of a glorious sight Of a baby now born on this magical night
They gathered their sheep and hurried away To see for themselves the babe in the hay
And as they arrived they fell to their knee Amazed at the sight that each one did see For there in the most unlikely of places A child brought delight to his new parents' faces
And then from afar three wise people came To visit the baby - Jesus by name They offered him gifts of spice, scent and gold And knelt there to worship as the prophets foretold.
But is this really all we have searched for tonight? Is something still missing from this wonderful sight?
The baby, of course that we've all heard about That made angels sing and scared shepherds shout
So where is this child - will he ever be found? Where do we look when he makes not a sound?
Sometimes when babies are starting to fuss We give them a toy that has meaning for us
So let's look for Jesus | as our story is ending | And with him the love | that our dear God is sending.
