FC: England, Cardiff, Bruges, and Paris | September 2013 | OUR AMAZING JOURNEY

London Arrived in London on September 3 via Icelandair. Favorite places to visit: Harrods, Oxford Street and our little Wine bar across the street from Morgan House.

Bath Arrived in Bath on Thursday, Sept. 5. via train. Enjoyed our walking tour, hop on bus, Jane Austen Center, and the Costume Museum. The Roman baths were built in the first century and became England's spa resort. | The Royal Crescent

Milton House is located in an area called Bear Flat. It is about a 15 minute up hill walk from the City Center. Our hosts were Gibson, Blessing, and David.

 Cardiff Castle, Wales

Cardiff, Wales We spent the weekend of September 7,8 in beautiful Cardiff. We enjoyed Cardiff Castle and St. Fagan's, an open air museum depicting Welsh life. Our B&B (Hotel One Hundred) was wonderful and Deanna had a late night encounter with a cat.

 September 9, 10, 11, and 12 | Welcome to the Cotswolds

Paxford Paxford was our home base during our stay in the Cotswolds. Miles of walking pathways lead us exploring pastures, fields, and small villages.

 Bourton-on-the-Water

Churchill Pub : Pea and Mint Soup | Sonny

Leaving the Cotswolds was really difficult. We wished we would have had more time with Rob and Jan at the Old Manor. Jan cooked us dinner one night and Rob gave us a royal tour of several villages we would have missed.

Keswick On September 13 we took the train from Morton-on-Marsh to Penrith. We then took a 45 minute bus ride to Keswick in the Lake District. We stayed at Portland House with Denise and Rod.

Saturday morning we took a short boat ride to the other side of Lake Derwentwater to hike up the Catbells. The 360 degree view was AMAZING!

 Bruges, Belgium

Michelangelo's sculpture of the Madonna and Child | Beguinage Founded in the 13th century to house women of the lay order called beguines, who spent their lives in piety and service. Today it is inhabited by Benedictine nuns. | We traveled by the Eurostar from London to Brussels and then train to Bruges. Lots of churches, including the Basilica of the Holy Blood. Love Bruges!

Royal Stewart | Maggie and Deanna | North Sea

Paris! September 19-22 Delicious food and fabulous Hot Chocolate! Lots of shops and crowded streets.

Versailles | We said our "good-byes" to our amazing vacation from Paris. We jetted home via Icelandair!
