S: Stoves' Family 2011
BC: Life is not about how many breathes you take, but about the moments that take your breath away.
FC: STOVES | FAMILY | IN REVIEW | YEAR | 2011
 January | February
 ISAIAH is ONE
Wonderful little Isaiah turned one and was a pretty snazzy man in his suit and blue shoes! The stud of our hearts.
 Chuck E. Cheese | 1st
Birthday Party | Isaiah's First Birthday Party was held at our house with a Yo Gabba Gabba theme. Those who celebrated with us: | Stan, Mel, & Logan Kirk Leah, Riley, Renee, & Rhianna Redding Ave & Linda Pickering Adam, Lindsay, Cami, & Audrey Boyle Kim, Isabel, & Jonah Johnson Bryan & Mandy Stoves Grandma Stoves
 Birthday Cake
May | 50th | Mike's | Todd & Joyful both completed the Lincoln marathon. Todd ran the full. Joyful walked the half with Cheryl Jones and baby bump Willow. Joyful finished first. | Mike Lawrence turned 50, so the cigar group got together at the park. Unfortunately it was really cold. Happily some of the potluck offerings were soup and coffee. Mike was suspicious of the surprise party, because who goes to the park on a cold May day? Still, we had a good turn out, and it was nice to be around grown ups.
 Strategic Air Command
in this family | WE LAUGH LOUDLY | WE MAKE MISTAKES | WE SAY I'M SORRY | WE ARE | WE CHERISH FRIENDS | WE HONOR | WE SHARE | WE LOVE DEEPLY | PATIENT | family | WE ARE GRATEFUL
We were blessed to have three moms together for Mother's Day! And w the lilac bush was in full bloom.
 Georgia Trip | St Louis
 Superman's Metropolis
 Zoo Atlanta
Stone Mountain | We went to Stone Mountain with Jennifer one day after she got done with school. She had never been to the top before. It was a hot day, but really windy at the top. Apparently both kids wore themselves out; on the drive home they both fell asleep in the backseat. Quiet ride home. Nice.
 Jimmy Carter Pres Library
Whole Jakl crew. Together for the first time since Todd & Joyful got married! | Katie did it! High School Graduate!!
Lots or random things to be seen in Alabama: the town where the band Alabama grew up, a Space Center, and a huge fountain and sculpture garden across from the library where Todd's grandpa has a sculpture.
Memphis | Isaiah had his first experience eating corn on the cob in Memphis at a BBQ joint. He did really well and loved it. He also loved the giant balls around their arena. It was a fun city and we could've spent more time there. We were exhausted when we stopped for the night!
Driving home we left super early in the morning and drove with minimal stops. It wasn't as well planned as the trip down. Memphis was a nice long break with lots of chances to walk. Then we stayed the night in a tiny town named Willow Springs. The next morning we found a huge pentecostal church in the Ozarks. The stage production and amount of kids stuff , including a giant McDonald's like playground, was quite the spectacle. The bonus was that it was next to the restaurant we wanted to go to, Lambert's Throwed Roll. The wait was crazy and we had a very tied boy. But, a balloon, warm "throwed rolls," and molasses made it all better.
One of our favorite stops, for the amount of laugher: Wild Animal Safari in Strafford, MO. You get to buy animal food and the animals are not shy about approaching your car for said food. Too fun! The first animal that approached us nudged joyful's shoulder to get her attention because she was turned toward the backseat.
It's always funny when you have a camel's head in your car! Isaiah was sleeping when we arrived, confused when he awoke, and then seemed pretty entertained by the whole thing. | What to say about friends from Heartlands? It's a great church and the kiddos are surrounded by people who love them and look out for them. Aunt Bree might be a favorite for Isaiah.
Summer brought lots of fun outside activities: basketball, farmer's market, Jazz in June, backyard pool, and a random classic roadster car show. Good times.
 Saltdogs Baseball
 Kansas City Trip
 Some Cubs baseball
 Upcoming Birth
 and Target | Ted's Tobacco
 Willow is BORN
Willow joined us on August 20. She was a natural, drug-free birth. A beautiful "10.4 good buddy." | After being checked over, Willow got her first bath with Mommy & Daddy, big brother visited, and 24 hours later everyone went home.
August ended with the birth ofWillow. The Stoves' family was now complete. Joyful was able to take 6 weeks off work, during which time Isaiah continued to go to daycare with Linda Pickering. At the end of that time, Todd switched from working full time days to working part time nights and staying home with the kiddos. It was a challenge to go from being two parents for one kid in the evenings to being one parent to two kids, as opposite shifts were worked outside of the home. But it's given the opportunity to be there for the kiddos and watch them change, hopefully teaching them something along the way.
Husker Day | Lightning & Mater
 Community Farm
 Blue Angels Air Show

 Children's Museum
 Museum Trick or Treat
...and a Halloween trip to Mommy's office.
The brown baby horse was a mere 8 hours old when we saw him. The Lincoln Children's Zoo is perfect for a stroll with the kids, whether or not they have an interest in animals on any given day.
 Lincoln Zoo
Boo at the Zoo | ...and the earlier in the month "pre-Halloween" costume day.

 in November
Isaiah had an inguinal hernia repaired on his right side. We were told that recovery would be surprisingly quick; sure enough the next day he was running and jumping like nothing had happened! | Isaiah's Hernia Surgery
 Christmas Tree Farm
 Snowman Time!
 Santa & Zoo Train
Oliver's 1st Birthday | Isaiah & Willow enjoyed cake and friends at Oliver Kirk's birthday party. Cake is always a hit!
 Willow's 1st Christmas
 Christmas Craft Time
Gingerbread House | A store bought gingerbread house became a work of art once assembled and decorated. Isaiah was excited to learn that he could eat the decorations. The house didn't last very long.
 Family Pictures
Willow wasn't super excited about pictures. The lady taking them wasn't very good with kids, though she thought she was, and Willow was having none of it.
 Christmas Day
 Presents & Family
 Go, Cubs, Go!
Pioneer Gymnastics | Isaiah started gymnastics when he was 18 months old. Great for confidence & coordination.
Happy New Year! | Children's Museum had a Make Believe Midnight at 8pm. It turns out when you are a 1 year old and a 4 month old, 8pm is still a stretch. Tired eyes and yawning smiles.
