FC: MIDWESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY | FIRST STUDY ABROAD FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

2: We arrived in London on July 5th. We took advantage of the weekend of July 6th and 7th to find our bearings and get settled in. And so, our journey began...

4: Monday, July 8th We began Orientation as we arrived at 9:00 am. Then, we went to the Science Museum that evening with speaker Robert Bud.

5: Tuesday, July 9th Caught the train to Birmingham International and visited the Land Rover Plant in Solihull. We then caught the Euston and Paddington trains to Oxford where we stayed at Keble College for the night.

6: Wednesday, July 10th Visited the Oxford Mini Cooper Plant. We then made our way back to campus and reviewed basic concepts of math.

7: Thursday, July 11th Visited the Royal Academy of Engineering with speaker Matthew Harrison. Reviewed Thermodynamics on campus.

8: Friday, July 12th Visited Westminster Abby and Parliament along with eating some delicious pizza at Pizza Express!

9: Saturday, July 13th Purchased the London Pass and made as many visits as we could that day along with visiting the O2 and seeing Michael Buble.

10: Sunday, July 14th We visited Wimbley Stadium and saw the London Color Run.

11: Monday, July 15th Reviewed Engineering Economics. Then, we took a trip to meet the CEO of BT Technology, Clive Selley. Made our way to an Ice Bar and a short trip to Britain's Museum of Popular Music.

12: Tuesday, July 16th We reviewed pressure, specific volume, temp, state equations, and heat cycles. Then, we took a trip to Crossness Beam Engines.

13: Wednesday, July 17th Went over laminar flow, turbulent flow, dimensional analysis, and more. Visited the Tower Bridge. Mini-Break began as we made our way to Paris, France.

14: Thursday, July 18th Paris to Venice for the night.

15: Friday, July 19th Venice to Switzerland to stay with some old friends, the Eggenschwilers.

16: Saturday, July 20th Continued our tour of Switzerland and explored the wilderness!

17: Sunday, July 21st Found our way to the Alps and saw the North Face. Also explored the inner cities of Switzerland.

18: Monday, July 22nd We spent our last days with the Swiss and had to make our way back home.

19: Tuesday, July 23rd Visited Institution of Mechanical Engineers with speaker Sara Rogers. Reviewed power screw, clutch and break designs.

20: Wednesday, July 24th Made a visit to the Riverside Resource Recovery Facility in Belvedere with speaker, Quentin Gillett. Learned about ways to convert waste to energy. Studied Fluid Mechanics back at campus.

21: Thursday, July 25th Technical Visit to Thames Barrier. Studied Business Economics on campus.

22: Friday, July 26th Day trip to Manchester.

23: Saturday, July 27th Wimbledon and Tower Hill Castle (The Crown Jewels are kept here)

24: Sunday, July 28th Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle

25: Monday, July 29 studied failure analysis and fatigue. Visited Institute of Materials with Frances Perry and Dr. Diane Alston.

26: Tuesday, July 30th Engineering at the Lee Valley White Water Center with Damian Dungworth Studied metallic materials, ceramics, and polymers. Found Team Europe's Gym and Crossfit Thames.

27: Wednesday, July 31st Robotics Laboratory visit with Professor Tariq Sattar. Learned about the phase diagram.

28: Thursday, August 1st We took composite pictures for Engineers and reviewed for exams. Found CrossFit London SE11 and had a great workout. They knew where Wichita Falls was!

29: Friday, August 2nd Final Exams and Farewell Party. | We will miss you London! Cheers!
