1: First Stop: Philadelphia, PA | The fist thing we did when we arrived was to go to the airport to pick up Linda and Roy, who were flying up from Orlando. We were all really happy to have them joining us! | Quote above: Diligence is the mother of good luck.
2: From the airport, we headed right to Geno's. One of the city's best Philly cheese steak sandwich places. Even though it was around 2 p.m., we had to wait in line, but it was worth it!
3: It was sooo hot. Aurora, Vicky and Adam got in the fountain. Vicky got her hair all wet! | Philadelphia Museum of Natural History | "Rocky"steps Nobody ran up the steps.

5: Roy told us about this deli that President Obama ate at. It was terrific! Everything was very good, and EXTRA large!

7: Eastern State Penitentiary is the world's first true penitentiary, a place meant to inspire penitence in the hearts of criminals. Al Capone's cell above, was the only nice cell. Thick walls, & high outer walls made this a real fortress.

30: A child's perspective of 9/11.
31: We visited Ground Zero, and saw the construction of the 9-11 Memorial. Roy and Linda went in to the temporary memorial put together by the 9-11 families. Adam, Vicky and Aurora chose not to go in. There was a sort of erie feeling just being near the site. We stopped and said a prayer for all those who died, and for world peace.

34: Cape Cod | From our hotel in nearby Plymouth, we drove over to Cape Cod. Aurora walked through P-town, as the locals call it. The soldier is a real person.
36: Provincetown is located at the very tip of Cape Cod. It has an eclectic collection of shops and colorful residents. Roy tried the local fare; the Lobster Roll sandwich. Yummy!!!
40: Alan, Roy, Vicky and Adam took a 3 hr. whale watching tour to a marine sanctuary. They saw over 30 whales! There was also a mother with her calf. There were so many whales, that Vicky and Adam got bored.
42: BOSTON | Boston's Back Bay is a very pretty, and very high end part of town. It is built over a huge landfill area that took over 50 years to complete. | This was the view from our hotel, the Royal Sonata. It's across the river in Cambridge.
43: BOSTON | Bean Town Beans were a staple in colonial times, adopted by the English colonist from the Native Americans. The Pilgrims and Puritans did not work, or cook, on Sunday, so they set out a pot of beans Saturday night. Boston Baked Beans are cooked with molasses and salt pork. We went to an restaurant that served authentic colonial food.

60: We took an elevator down into a series of caves that open up to viewing areas right next to the horseshoe falls,(left), and just behind it (above). The walls and floor were wet, it sounded like thunder and you could feel the vibration from the falls.
