BC: Made by: | April 2012 | Gamma and I really cherished the 5 months of planning for the London trip and party. As my only beautiful daughter and Gamma’s only grand-daughter, together we wanted to share and create memories during this special time. There was hardly a day that past that Gamma and I did not speak about the trip or party during those months.

Gamma and I did it again. Just three weeks after coming home from London, we pulled off another Surprise with a Sweet 16 Party !! For weeks leading up to your birthday, I had been telling you not much was happening for your birthday because Aunt Carisa and Uncle B had to work and all my attempts to get the Hansen Family together failed. You were so bummed out. It hit you the week of your birthday and you asked me “so when am I going to open my birthday gifts ?” All I did is look at you and you knew it would be the same time as Easter baskets. You really wanted to have dedicated birthday time. That is the whole reason we planned a Sweet 16 Party. Since we moved, you never really had “your birthday time”. It was always celebrated with Easter or just a weekend we happened to be in Chicago. All you wanted for your birthday was to be with family and that is exactly what you got and much more. You had no idea this was coming, it was a totally awesome surprise.
The invitation created by Mom | Party Time
Live music provided by friends of Gamma's
Poppi wanted to make the food rather than have it catered. He made Baked Mostaccioli, sausage, meatballs and ordered some chicken.
Guests | Fred & Pat Nosal (hosted your baby shower) Kim Kuball, middle (former neighbor of Gamma's) | Dennis & Sue Troppman (Aunt Carisa's Parents) | Family Friends
The Crew from Gamma's office that you worked with over the summer sitting: Grandpa Dude (Sue's Dad), Diane & Jon Coyle standing: Taelon, Chris, Sue, Mary & Erin (Sue's Daughter)
Family | Hansen's | Uncle Ralph, Aunt Lisa, Grandma, Uncle Vernon, Diana, Dillon, Rachel & Aunt Connie | Corey, Aunt Carisa, Luke, Uncle B, Uncle Keith, Aunt Jen Sitting: Andrew, Uncle Tom, his friend, Janice & Tyler | Urban's
We expected the top to be more creative. But it carried your theme & that’s all that mattered. | Gamma & I selected a private cake decorator rather than a bakery because no one was willing to do what we wanted. | Cake
You were blessed with very generous gifts even from people who did not attend such as Mom’s Friend Jill and the Sieberhagen’s and Gamma’s Friends Arlene Trunk and Janice Nicklos. | Gifts
You received a nice variety of gifts such as... | a Pandora necklace and bracelet with charms on each, Pandora clips and zebra beads | Calvin Klein purse, earrings, bracelet, a scarf and several gift cards.
And of course, the Alexandrite. The most sensational feature of this stone, is its surprising ability to change its color. Green or bluish-green in daylight and turns a soft shade of red, purplish-red or raspberry red in incandescent light. This unique characteristic makes it one of the most valuable gemstones.
Party Details | Vases filled with pink kool-aid. | Balloon weights
Extra attention was given to all the details. I ordered a sign that we had outside while guests arrived then brought in, made towels for the bathrooms, had pictures of you with the zebra around the room. When looking at flowers you thought I was getting them as Easter gifts for grandma's and liked the gerber daisies instead of petunias so, I got the gerbers. | Matching napkins with the balloons. | Your crown hairpin | From England
Thanks to Gamma & Poppi and Mom & Dad
Happy Sweet 16 and Easter !!! | Your actual birthday was on Easter this year. We started the morning by meeting all your Uncle’s for breakfast at Honey Jam’s in Bolingbrook because Uncle Craig and Aunt Carisa had to go to Indiana to spend the day with her family. Sadly, I forgot my camera in the car. After breakfast, you made a quick stop at Uncle B’s house, he even let you drive his car, to play a little basketball and then onto Gamma and Poppi’s to have a light lunch and open Easter baskets. We had to get on the road by early afternoon since you had school the following day, unfortunately Spring break was 1 week prior to Easter. The Hansen Family was having their Easter gathering at dinner time therefore we were unable to visit with them. .
