One day, a girl went to the woods on the Oregon Coast. No one knew her there, and the woods were quiet and slow and the girl was too. There were no flowers, no sign of life, just dried up branches and very few trees with leaves.
She was careless and went there alone, no one has seen or heard from her since.....
One day a family took a weekend trip to the coast.....
they saw a girl in a plaid jacket with the hood up. She appeared to be alone, and the family didn't know who she was. So they decided to take pictures of her.
She turned around once, and saw them taking her picture, she ran and hid from them.
Time had passed and the girl was getting older. The family came to the coast again. There were big rocks surrounding the ocean, and the family saw the girl sitting on the nearest rock.
She had looked ghostly last time, but now it was almost like she wanted to be seen.
The waves were huge, making the picture even better. But to the family, this wasn't good at all.
They knew how dangerous it could get during high tide.
The girl picked up a rock almost as big as her hand, she wasn't scared of the rocky cliffside and the giant waves!
They continued to follow her, wondering where she would lead them next......
An hour later, the family found themselves in front of a big tunnel. It was very dark, But the girl was just getting started.
The cameras were ready to flash. Finally the girl was standing there, in the middle of the tunnel. The family was excited, exclaiming "I can't believe we got that!"
There was a visitor's center nearby, and the family was expecting something interesting. Then....... BOOM! There she was, standing on the deck looking at the view of the ocean. At the same time, they all said "WOW!"
MYSTERY SOLVED! At the visitor center a picture was found by the family! It looked ancient, but it was the same jacket, the same look, the same girl! They decided to make a book about the whole thing. The book was fiction and it became famous.
The photographer and author give special thanks to Aunt Laura for additional photos.
