FC: The War Shirt | By: Austin Miller

It was a normal day in the fields the war against the black snake and his army of snake riding squirrels all sarge could think about was what they were going to do next, he had sent 3 of his best spies the day before and none of them had returned. He was sure they weren't going to but there was this one soldier who never gave up his name is, Ivan Bob.

Ivan Bob was a fighter pilot for the UCAF the UCAF is the United Cotton Air Force. This job meant a lot but one day at the barracks a loud noise arose when everyone was asleep as the noise grew closer everyone was up, then the noise was over them everyone thought it was an attack so they got ready. Then the building was torn in half and they saw a huge red monster that ate everyone. Ivan and his platoon were all swallowed together, they devised a plan to get out, put it into action and it failed.

The team wasn't giving up though, they kept fighting until finally they were out but now they were in some kind of new machine that they haven't ever seen before, they figured they were in an enemy base and that the new machine was a torturing device, but when they went through it actually felt weird it was cleaning them. The team thought the same thing... something really bad was going to happen.

As usual they were right something bad did happen and they were about to find out what. Ivan and the rest of his squad were put into these machines with needles and were poked until they were in a new shape then they were carried and put into a new colorful machine that splashed black, green, and dark green.

Then they were dried and put into a box, by that time they were all huddled up making a plan. The box was put into a truck and sent away to Fort Belvoir in Virginia when they arrived, they were given to a soldier.

The soldier's name was Ben, his class, sniper. When Ben received the shirt he immediately put it on. Ivan and his team soon discovered that there was a war happening while they were fighting their's. The team were about to enter another war, one they didn't sign up for.

They were led some barracks where Ben showed the shirt off, it was camouflage, the natural color of the US Army and Marines. The war that was going on would change the teams lives forever. The next day they were led to the battle.

The platoon was on the front lines of the battle when it happened the part that would change their lives forever. Ben was ready to take on any soldier that would cross his sight. It was the ones that he didn't see that proved deadly.

The enemy had ghillie suits that proved useful. Ben couldn't see them but they could see him and when he delivered his last bullet in the clip he knew he was vulnerable and that's when he tried to hide so he could reload.

It was too late the shots were fired and they had made impact. Ben hit the ground and was out. He had no pulse there were holes in his shirt and armor. Blood spilled as his team tried CPR but it was no use Ben was already in a better place, where there was no war, no bloodshed, and no sacrifice.

Ben was given the Medal of Honor, the medal every soldier dreams of being worthy enough to receive. The torn shirt was given to Ben's family at the burial. They hung it up in remembrance they knew Ben did his duty and he did better than anyone.

Dedicated to all the brave men and women who served for this countries freedom. One day I am going to be one of the ones who served.

 Always remember the fallen.

Semper Fi means always faithful it is the motto for every military branch there is.
