FC: Toni and Karen's Trip to the Beach May 10, 2012
I surprised Toni by taking her to watch the glass float blowers. She also got to blow her own float. Something for her to remember her trip to Lincoln city, Oregon.
Toni gets instructions on how the place the color chips on the hot molten glass and then they will put it back in the fire and get more glass on the pole.
They are putting the colors that Toni choose, pink, red and white.
Toni is pinching the hot glass so when they blow into it their will be swirls in the colors.
More shaping of the glass float and getting ready to blow into the tube to put air in the float.
Here is the finished float. The colors will change as the glass is still very hot. They put it in an oven to slowly cool.
It's the next day and we stopped by to check out the float after it had cooled down.
It was clear skies but the wind was blowing so hard it made it very cold and we couldn't stay out there for a long time.
The beach outside our motel. The Sandcastle Motel in Lincoln City, Oregon. Nothing fancy but the beach is great.
The wind was blowing the water off the top of the waves as they turned.
Toni walking towards the rock to see if we can find the starfish. The tide was too high and way to cold.
The water splashing over the rocks.
It was too cold to be outside and take pictures of the sunset so we stayed in the room and just opened and shut the door to take the pictures of the sunset.
We had fun with each of us having cameras and taking pictures then sharing them to see how they turned out.
Toni's favorite picture is the one with the seagull. As I was taking the picture the bird flew across at the perfect time.
Trying different settings on the cameras to get the different looks.
 Zoomed in on the sunset.
You can't have enough beautiful sunset pictures to remember the beach by.
This is my picture of the sun having a tail that looks like is is smoking through the sky.
Making memories with my Denve Daughter, Toni
The sun is almost gone for the day.
Next morning and its time for the morning walk. The wind has quit so it is not so cold out.
Half a moon showing in the morning. It is a low tide again so you can see more of the rocks.
We woke up in the morning and noticed a brave surfer out in the ocean. He did not stay out there very long.
The tide got low enough that we could start to see the starsifh clinging to the rocks.
Depoe Bay, Oregon. The water was pretty calm so the waves were not crashing over the rocks very much. It was still pretty though.
Time to ahead for home so Toni can catch her flight back home to Denver, Colorado. I had so much fun with her. Can't wait till she gets to come back and stay longer. Thanks Toni.
