FC: Washington DC Summer Trip 2011
On July 14, 2011, Hannah, Sissy, Ann Louise, Gay, and I flew to Washington DC to visit Haley. She was interning there that summer, so what a great excuse for a fun girl trip. It was the Neely and the Stacy girls first time to DC. After a pretty smooth morning of travel on that Thursday morning, we met Haley near her office and visited, ate, went sight seeing and shopped for three and a half days straight. It was a really fun and special mother/daughter weekend that we will always remember!
Haley welcomed us to DC and took us to a cool salad joint called Chop't. Yum!!!
After lunch, we went to the Holocaust Museum. It was sad but very interesting.
Late Thursday afternoon. we went to Georgetown to see where Haley lived.
We took a little stroll around Georgetown before dinner.
Thursday night, we ate at an Italian restaurant called Filomenas!!
Friday morning, we started out early to visit the Smithsonian. First we went to the National Museum of American History. Then we walked around the National Mall and saw the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.
A few of our favorite exhibits at the National Museum of American History were the First American flag, the First Lady's Inaugural Ball gowns, and the White House China patterns.
 Scenes around the Smithsonian.
 Good job, Girls!!!
After our morning at the Smithsonian, we met Haley at Serendipity 3 in Georgetown for lunch. | The food was delicious and we topped it off with some of their famous "Frrrozen Hot Chocolate".
We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping. For dinner, we went to Zabb Modern Asian Restaurant for some sushi.
After dinner, Haley took us to see more sights. One being the place she would love to have her wedding reception one day. We are SO in!! | The girls went out later and couldn't believe how many Ole Miss people they saw.
We started out early Saturday morning for Alexandria, VA to walk around Old Town. It was a long subway ride, but well worth it.
Lunch at the Fish Market and a little shopping in Old Town.
 Christmas in July? Why not!!!!
We went back to DC to do a little more shopping and topped the afternoon off with a cupcake from Crumbs Bake Shop.
Dinner Saturday night was at Rosa Mexicano. The guacomole is made fresh at the table.
A trip to DC is not complete without seeing the White House. After dinner, we headed that way and were just in time. Right after we took pictures, they turned the lights off. Whew!!
The Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's were delicious!! | Our last dining experience was for Sunday brunch at the Acadiana Restaurant.
After a delicious Sunday Brunch, we went back to the hotel to pack up. We said our goodbyes to Haley, thanked her for the hospitality and the Neelys and Stacys headed for the airport. Gay's flight was a little later so she got to spend the rest of the afternoon with Haley. It was a special weekend with our girls that we will always remember and cherish!!
