Ralphy, the chipmunk, and Elmer, the fox, were worst enemies. The chipmunks of the temperate forest were told to stay away from the dangerous foxes, so that's exactly what Ralphy did.
But one day, Ralphy heard Elmer let out a loud scream and couldn't help but run and see what had happened.
Once Ralphy found Elmer, he didn't notice anything wrong, so he was about to sneak away without being noticed until he realized the problem. . .
The edge of the forest was being lit on fire!
Ralphy asked Elmer what was going on, and Ralphy told him all about the "Men of Fire", otherwise known as deforesters, who burned down trees for their own benefits.
They began to panic and frantically searched for some sort of help, but it was no use. The rest of the animals were nowhere to be found.
Despite being enemies, they decided that they needed to team up in order to warn the rest of the animals and save their homes before it was too late.
As the fire grew closer, Ralphy and Elmer knew that they had to hurry, so they quickly ran to the nearest road, where a car swerved and hit a nearby oak tree.
. | A large man got out of his wrecked car to find Ralphy and Elmer. They knew he was their last hope, so they brought him over to the fire.
The man, who introduced himself as John, began to yell at the "Men of Fire", but when they didn't listen, he pulled out a smallbox that he called a "cellphone" and starting pressing buttons.
He demanded for help into the cellphone, and before they knew it, a large red truck arrived.
Men began piling out of the red truck wearing protective gear and carrying large hoses to extinguish the fire.
The day was saved! The fire was put out before doing too much damage to the forest and the animals' homes.
The oak trees, pickles, earthworms, mushrooms, foxes, chipmunks, deer, deciduous shrubs, and all of the other organisms living in the temperate deciduous forest were saved.
From then on, Ralphy, Elmer, and John remained the best of friends, and no one ever harmed the forest ever again.
