24: Gigi was found by Norma Cardenas-Flores and brought to Kristi at Colby Glass Elementary in February 2009. Joe named her Gigi, short for Ghetto Girl, when she grabbed a chicken carcass and took off running through the house with it. | Fu Manchu showed up at Colby Glass Elementary in May 2005. He was adopted by another teacher, but he ran away from her house and because his tag was registered in Kristi's name, she was called when Fufu was found. Kristi never returned him to to the other teacher who lost him. | Mason wandered in to the St. Paul School playground when Kristi was teaching 5th grade there in April 2002. Mason had recently been spayed so Kristi drove her around to local vets to see if anyone recognized her. No one did. She's been Dixie's side kick ever since. | Hank and Frank were found outside Kristi's parents' house in December 2007. Their sister passed away from pulmonary edema shortly after they were found. Hank and Frank are inseparable. | Ian was brought to Fredericksburg Road Animal Hospital in the summer of 2000 by a policeman who found him in the street after Ian had been hit by a car. His leg was broken at the hip socket and could not be splinted or casted. He fully recovered without even a limp.
25: Dixie was brought in to Fredericksburg Road Animal Hospital when Kristi was working there. Dixie's owner wanted to euthanize her because she chewed on things. Dr. Granberry refused to put DIxie to sleep and Kristi brought her home in March 2000. | Monkey Jack was found under Grace and Tomas Ramirez's house in March 2010 with his 4 sisters. Joe and Kristi bottle fed them all and adopted the girls out to families. Monkey Jack's name comes from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. | Isabella was found hanging on the window screen in front of Mary Ann Gillaspie's house in June 1995. She had a layer of filth stuck to her feet as if she had been locked up in a dirty cage and paced around a lot. She is a grouchy princess. | Maginot was brought in to Fredericksburg Road Animal Hospital in 1999 by Wildlife Rescue. His fur was in terrible mats and he was being eaten alive by maggots. Kristi worked on him for a full afternoon and insisted on taking him home when he was healthy enough. | Lily came in to the Colby Glass gym one morning in April 2006 where 400 students were waiting for the school day to begin...fearless kitten. Her name is Lily because she arrived around Easter.
