S: Wacky & Whimsical Dog Shots
BC: This is an old self portrait from a time long gone. I am sitting with my black lab, Jesse, and my husbands' dog, Chop, who he had before we got married. I took this picture when I was taking care of Chop while my husband was away on business. I wanted him to see that we all had a nice time. | About The Author/Photographer I have always been a dog lover and got my first SLR camera when I was fifteen. Forty years later I am still shooting and a lot of time it is my dog, Sand, although I have been shooting a lot of waterfowl lately. I live on Kent Island with my husband, my dog, and my son when he is home from college. | dalehallphotoartistry.com

3: This book is dedicated to my fifteen year old yellow lab, Sand, who with her wacky antics kept me grabbing my camera. After showing and marketing Sand's pictures, people kept asking, "Where are the black and chocolate labs?" So I contacted a couple of breeders and as you will see, the wheels kept turning. This book is a culmination of pictures taken over the years.
5: Acknowledgements A special thanks goes to Theo's owner, Geoff Riefe who asked me to do the Thanksgiving feast shot. I'd also like to thank sweetwaterlabradors.com in Stevensville,Maryland, for providing the chocolate lab pups,Laura Brissey for providing the black lab pups, Dr Shaw for providing some of the yellow lab pups and all the special clients and friends who loved their dogs enough to celebrate them with professional photography. I must also thank all the dog owners who had extraordinary dogs that I met in passing who did not mind their loved ones being photographed.

44: Dog With Waste Basket In Mouth ~ My dog, Sand used to grab things such as the waste basket, pillows off the couch, plastic grocery bags from the pantry, and run out back hoping we would chase after her. Always A Bridesmaid ~ A woman asked me to photograph her dog and adorned him with a bandanna for the pictures. The womans' mother came along as well to get her dog photographed, but didn't have anything to adorn her with so as she was leaving the house she grabbed the wreath off the door. Dog Sleeping With Statue ~ One day I checked on my dog out in the front garden and was awestruck to see her sleeping with the statue! I couldn't believe my eyes! I realized it was because that was her usual napping spot in the garden and when I had moved the statue there she was just not going to let that puppy get in her way! | Some Short Tales About the Long Tailed Dogs
45: Thanksgiving Feast ~ This shot was taken for Fidos For Freedom, Inc., and was used in their annual fund raising calendar in 2011. Fidos For Freedom, Inc. is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who strive to increase the quality of life through the use of hearing dogs, service dogs, and therapy dogs. Theo, the dog on the cover definitely proved to be a well trained service dog when he was given the command "hold" while a turkey leg was placed in his mouth. Theo did just what he was told, sat up straight, was a perfect gentleman, and held the turkey leg without blinking an eye.
