Imitation Poem -End Rhyme I once knew a man named Hobo Hank He smelled pretty bad to be frank Once you got past the smell comin from his shoes your jaw would drop when you heard him play the blues He would sing about his life about the time he lost his wife Hank was a good friend of mine I always said he aged nicely like wine After I said goodbye to Hank for the night I was feelin pretty much alright but little did I know that that night Hank would die in the snow

Where will you go When this day is over A gambler's purse Beck - Dead Melodies Lays on the road Straight to your door Snakes have gone crazy tonight Winding their way out of sight A laugh, a joke A sentiment wasted Seasons of strangers They've come and gone Doldrums are pounding, Cheapskates are clowning this town Who could disown themselves now Engineer, slow down this old train Cinders and chaff Laugh at the moon Night birds will cackle Rotting like apples on trees sending their dead melodies to me | Beck's lyrics tend to be very ambigous, which is sharp contrast to the poetry of Nikki Giovanni. Beck's lyrics tend to be non-objective or even abstract. Nikki Giovanni has an obvious subject in her poetry. Nikki Giovanni tends to use similes in her poetry, while Beck tends to use personification. | Nikki Giovanni - Balances in life one is always balancing like we juggle our mothers against our fathers or one teacher against another (only to balance our grade average) 3 grains of salt to one ounce truth our sweet black essence or the funky honkies down the street and lately i've begun wondering if you're trying to tell me something we used to talk all night and do things alone together and i've begun (as a reaction to a feeling) to balance the pleasure of loneliness against the pain of loving you

Poem About Death the end there is nothing more life is short emptiness is forever

Alleteration Living, learning loving, leaving leaping, losing laughing, licking Thats a lot of Ls

Poetry Unit Poem Like leaves green on tress poetry units appear in spring they start as buds and soon grow into a large scale expedition into the world of poetry this change in climate commonly known as poetry season could not possibly take longer to finish

Drowning deep in my sea of loathing Your sorry eyes cut through the bone Make it hard to leave you alone It seems what's left of my human side is slowly changing in me There's too many people you used to know When suddenly it changes, Violently it changes They know your secrets, and you know theirs This town is crazy, nobody cares Madness is the gift that has been given to me I'm tired of fighting, I'm tired of fighting Fighting for a lost cause Lyrics from: Beck - Lost Cause and Distrubed- Down with the Sickness
