We started our second year together by traveling down to Tennessee to spend time with Grandma Lake, and to pick up your motorcycle. Your grandma was very funny and sweet, and I had a great time chatting with her! After visiting with her, we went for a walk in a park, and enjoyed "Chicago" at the local Playhouse. On Sunday, we made the 8 hour trip back to Fort Wayne. Me in the Green Goblin, and you on your motorcycle. | T E N N E S S E E
ff | In October, you were in the wedding party for Evan and Ashley's wedding in Kentucky. It was the first time I had met the couple, but you wouldn't know that, because they were so nice and welcoming. My favorite memory from the wedding was watching your mom and dad out on the dance floor. They could move in ways that you and I could only dream of doing!

 Thanksgiving Eve - Fort Wayne
On Thanksgiving Eve, we went downtown to watch the 71st lighting of the Santa Claus. We ran to the site because we thought we were going to miss it, but then we ended up standing around forever, waiting for them to light him. ha. After they made Santa all bright and shiny, we headed over to Starbucks for warm beverages before the fireworks show at Parkview Field. It was a very cold night, but so much fun!
Do you remember when we | first moved in together...
12912 Branstrator Road, Yoder, Indiana 46798 | Home Sweet | Home | We talked a lot about buying a home and moving in together, prior to your return in September. You wanted 10 acres of land, with lots of trees and room to grow and play. I wanted a newer home that wasn't going to need a lot of work done to it. We looked at a few homes, but we weren't falling in love with anything. Many of the homes were wonderful, but there was always something that we disliked enough to say "no, thank you". As we drove to the showing of the home we ended up buying, I remember thinking, this is such a waste of time. There are no trees, it's against a main road, and it's only 5 acres. However, we immediately fell in love with the property. It was the first time we felt like we were "home". We returned the next day to view the home one more time, then put an offer in on a Monday morning. By the afternoon we knew our offer had been accepted. We closed on December 29, 2011, and have been happily living together ever since. :) | Home Sweet | Home!

Having fun while away at sea!
You are not alone tonight, imagine me there by your side. It's so hard to be here, so far away from you. I'm counting the days till I'm finally done, I'm counting them down one-by-one. Feels like forever till I return to you. But it helps me on those lonely nights, it's that one thing that keeps me alive, Knowing that you wait for me, ever so patiently. Yeah, you're everything I've ever dreamed of having, and it's everything I need from you just knowing that you wait for me.
May 25, 2012 | Friday evenings are known as "Date Night". We usually go out to dinner, and sometimes go out and do something. May 25, 2012 was a very special Friday because it was my last day of the 2011-2012 school year. You even brought me flowers to school to celebrate (or so I thought). That evening, you let me pick where I wanted to eat, so I chose Ruby Tuesday. They have a delicious pasta dish and yummy cupcakes. We stuffed ourselves, and then headed to the theater to see The Avengers. I wanted to see The Lucky One, but decided that I would be nice and not make you sit through a chic flick. After the movie was over, we headed home. Little did I know...
You were outside and I went out back to see what you were up to. The next thing I knew, you had a box with an engagement ring inside, and you were asking me to marry you. I wish I could say that I remember everything you said, but I can't. I was just so excited and shocked, that I found concentrating extremely difficult. After lots of hugs and kisses, I did an extremely long, impressive happy dance throughout the entire house. I couldn't stop looking at the ring. I was so, so honored to know that you wanted to love me for the rest of your life. Best day e.v.e.r.
The ring! | The happiest moment of my life
Welcome to the Lake Zoo! We started 2012 with two animals - Iz and Punk. By the end of 2012, we had three new additions to our family - Schrocky, Gus, and Dagny. The poor kittens went through like three names each until we finally verified that they were both boys. I'm sure their name changes had nothing to do with my awesome decision making skills...ha.

Washington D.C. | I thought no place would ever be able to compete with my love for NYC. Then we went to Washington D.C. I was immediately in love. It reminded me a lot of NYC, just cleaner and slightly slower paced. There were still tons of things to do, but not a billion people to maneuver around. Love! :) By far my favorite memories from this trip are all the historical buildings and monuments we visited. To see the bed that George Washington passed away in, the place where MLK stood during his famous speech, the White House, the Vietnam War Memorial...so,so cool! We took a bike tour to see all the famous monuments at night. I couldn't WAIT to get to the Lincoln Memorial! I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling I had as I walked up the steps and saw Abe for the very first time. Gives me chills just thinking about it! You said that you enjoy seeing my reaction to new experiences. You must have had a blast during this trip, then :)
During our trip to D.C., we stopped by the Smithsonian National Zoo. There, I saw a panda for the first time. Not as "soft" as what I was expecting...ha. We spent a great deal of time watching the apes. I think we were both fascinated with the way they interacted with each other, and their mannerisms that were so similar to ours.
Geoff and Brittany's Wedding Miami, Florida - August 3, 2012 | At the beginning of August, we traveled to FL for Geoff and Brittany's wedding. This was the first time I was meeting everyone from KP, but I wasn't nervous because of our Skype dates with the lovely bride & groom. We had SO much fun! I don't think either one of us had laughed that much or that hard, in a very long time. It would be impossible for me to pick my favorite memory, because everything was so wonderful. You have a pretty amazing family of KPers, especially Geoff and his new bride, Brittany. I can't wait to get to know everyone more throughout the years!
Jason | His Favorite Highlights of Year Two Our second year together has been absolutely amazing. Some of my favorite "big" memories include proposing (especially the part when Anna said yes!), seeing "Wicked" on Broadway, and our time with friends in Miami. But what made the year truly great were all of the "smaller" memories, like curling up with our coffees to watch a movie or spending time together working outside on OUR land. Big or small, the time spent together has been priceless, and I can't wait to see what year 3 brings!
Anna | Her Favorite Highlights of Year Two By far the biggest highlight for me was Jason proposing. I had been dreaming about marrying Jason for quite some time, and to have him get down on one knee and ask me to spend the rest of my life with him, was the most amazing moment of my life (so far). I absolutely LOVED Washington D.C. Seeing the Lincoln Memorial took my breath away. The history buff in me was definitely pleased. :) Meeting Jason's KP family was a blast! I have never laughed so hard in my life. They were such wonderful people.
Coming Soon... | Mr. and Mrs. Jason Lake | On March 23, 2013, I will be the luckiest girl in the world walking down the aisle to say "I do" to you, the most amazing man I have ever known. If the past two years are any indication of what our lives will be like together, then I can't imagine that there has ever been two people more perfect for each other than you and I. In a wide sea of eyes I see one pair that I recognize And I know that I am, I am, I am the luckiest.
