BC: Thank Yous | I dedicate this book to Carly who gave me the idea for a koala, Joel who gave me the koala name, and Craig who named my kookaburra.
FC: A Treasure Chest Is Not Always Best | By Devin
Once upon a time in the land of Jungleania there lived a koala named Joel. He lived in a small tree house in the second tallest tree. Every day Joel explored around the jungle and one day he discovered a strange cavern behind a waterfall.
Once upon a time in the land of Jungleania there lived a koala named Joel. He lived in a small tree house in the second tallest tree. Every day Joel explored around the jungle. One day he discovered a strange waterfall spring.
He looked around and discovered that there was a cavern behind the waterfall! He was curious and so he decided to look further into the cave. Oh My Gosh! What should appear before him but a treasure chest atop a large pedestal. It amazed him so much that he had to have it.
He slowly approached the chest when someone jumped out in front of him! It was a small kookaburra bird named Craig. He told Joel not to go near the chest because when you opened it the cave started to collapse. The two became friends and then pondered ways to get the chest without making the cave collapse. “I got it!” said Joel, we can replace the chest with a boulder and then it won’t collapse.
The two quickly found a boulder and placed it on the pedestal. They then grabbed the chest and started to leave feeling very triumphant. As they were exiting the cave Craig said, “Do you here a rumbling noise?”. They looked back and realized the boulder had rolled off the pedestal and the cave was starting to come down!
They started to sprint but the chest was too heavy. They could just see the entrance taunting them, they were so close. They threw the chest over the falls and jumped out of the cave, just barely avoiding the last falling rock. As our heroes plunge into the mist we await to see what has become of them.
Our adventurers climbed out of the water soaking wet and sad, as their treasure was lost and they weren’t to glad. “It’s gone it’s all gone” moaned Craig. “Don’t give up, it could be around here somewhere” said Joel. While he sat there dismayed Joel looked around. He almost gave up when he saw something shine by the edge of the falls.
“Craig it’s over here!” screamed Joel. There was money and gold everywhere! They laughed an played in the treasure filled water all day happy with their marvelous discovery. The sun started to set and the two new friends looked at each other, they realized that the treasure didn't matter because even though they had found the treasure the treasure of friendship was the only one they needed to keep.
