2: Dear Birthparents, Thank you so much for taking the time to read more about our lives, our home, and our desire to love and nurture a child. Making an adoption plan for your child is a loving and selfless act, and we respect you for the choice you are making. Our names are Scott and Amey Burkhart. We have been married for four years and have struggled with infertility during our entire marriage. Our commitment to one another has been reinforced through that journey, and through it, we came to realize that God has a different plan for us to become parents. That plan is adoption. We are adventurous people who like to try new things - whether it means traveling to another country or just trying a new food at our favorite restaurant. We want to be able to introduce a child to the possibilities in life, to teach our child how to be socially responsible, and to love that child without any restrictions or strings. Family is very important to us. Scott's family lives about 30 minutes away from us, so we enjoy weekend visits his father, brother, sister, and their families. Amey's grandfather lives in the house next door, while her parents and her brother each live about 10 minutes away. This allows us to see them more frequently. No matter how far away we live, though, we look forward to our time with our nieces and nephew most of all!
3: Both of our families really stressed the value of education to us while we were growing up, and both of us worked a variety of jobs to get ourselves through college. Now, Scott works for a large insurance company, and Amey, who spent 6 years teaching elementary and middle school children, works to train adults in a banking environment. Both of our jobs give us the flexibility to spent lots of time at home - Amey often works from home. When we were getting ready to get married, we decided to learn how to dance. Scott wanted to make sure that he wouldn't "fall on his face" when we got on the dance floor for the first time. Of course, Amey is the one who almost fell in front of everyone, but it all worked out because, like with everything else, Scott was there to catch her at the right time. Now we both love it, and look forward to being able to share our love of both music and movement with a child. We can’t wait to be parents, and to share our happily ever after with a child. If you choose us, we will respect your wishes when it comes to the openness of our relationship as well as your relationship with your child. We promise to love your child unconditionally, and to be the best parents we can be. Thank you again for taking the time to consider us as parents for your child. If you’d like to meet and learn more about us please call: Adoption Link, Inc. 1-800-643-3356. Scott & Amey
