 Table Of Contents | Where I'm From ..................................... 2 Language Arts ........................................ 4 Self Respect ........................................... 6 My mother's Kitchen ............................... 8

A Year in Review | Where I’m from Poem I’m from Johnny cakes and bully beef, From Little Tykes and Mario I’m from the small burgundy house on the Court I’m from the big willow tree in the middle I’m from smell of sorrel and hibiscus From “Make me proud” I’m from Sunday walks with the family and tennis I’m from snow angels and snowball fights I’m from ‘Patwa’ and palm trees From Tom & Jerry, Catdog and Dexter’s Laboratory From Oreomark and Cheesepuffs I’m from Kid Nets and pickup games From Kid Chameleon and Starfire I’m from mild summers and winter shovels From fights in Cuba and Dupi Stories I am me.

Language Arts Poem | Language arts is about a story you can tell Infusing creativity into words to communicate Poetry like the word of the soul Pen becomes a fountain of thoughts Pouring over ordinary paper Like the seed of a flower Slowly it grows grander Until blossoming into something beautiful Grammar and vocabulary fuse to tell The dreams from the heart Deepest wishes and Darkest fears It does not discriminate Nor is it judgmental It is expression in its purest form That is Language Arts

Self Reseect | Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I want to cry, most times I won’t. Depending on the time; I might even lay down some rhymes. It really doesn’t depends on what others think about me . I’m not really fond of following the crowd. And I’m usually pretty stubborn when I’m walking around. But I learned to always try to be the best I can be Because I am a unique soul; I think individually I’m not the coolest kid from around the block My rules are not determined by the work of the clock No matter what anybody thinks of me I will always be who I’m supposed to be

The aroma of calilou (green) and curry pungent My mom Slowly stirring in salt fish and dumplings Something rises to the top of the broth A pig’s torso bobbing in the broth My aunt Diana comes in and Spreads some spices into the mix To enhance the flavor A feast we will have But for the pig The day is not so sweet. | My mother's Kitchen
