BC: Hong Kong was the perfect place for Howard the hippo.
FC: Hippo's in Hong Kong | By: Hannah Weir
Howard the hippo is from Honduras and has hundreds of meals a day. He is always hungry and always searching for another meal. Howard has to change homes every week because he eats everything he can get his hands on.
Poor Howard has gone through so many homes that he can't even count them on all his fingers and toes. Being a hippo Howard needs to fill his empty belly, but that can take all day, because Howard is always hungry.
Howard swims from town to town on the coast. Going to different countries, trying their different foods, and their different customs.
As Howard swims up the coast he makes his way to Hong Kong. Howard is very excited to be in Hong Kong they have plenty of food to eat, so hopefully Howard won't go hungry.
Hong Kong has lots of new plants to eat and plenty of rice. But Howard can't seem to find anything. There's so many people Howard gets lost before he starts.
He looks in the harbour, but there's nothing there but fish.
He looks in the temples, but theres nothing there but monks.
Howard has been looking for food since the sun came up, and the sun is almost ready for bed. In all this time, Howard has grown extremely hungry. His tummy has been rumbling and roaring, squeaking and squawking.
He is so hungry that he thinks that his tummy might have to shrink because there's no way that he can eat as much as he needs to in a day. Howard's journey has taken him far and wide, Hong Kong is a vast place. But his journey has now taken him to this great big wall that goes on to the horizon.
Howard the hippo hops onto the great wall and suddenly he is able to see as far as the ocean.
But in the space between Howard and the horizon, is a big market filled to the brim with rice, and veggies, so that Howard will never go hungry again.
