S: The Great Adventures of Sara and friends 2012
FC: The Awesome Adventures of Sara and friends | 2012
 My year of 2012
In January, I got my own Death Note.
In the last week of school, Lucy, Cennie Gavin and I (and the rest of our gym class (which did not include Braden) went on a bike ride downtown. It was there that we decided to take a picture with the head of a man.. who I'm not quite sure what he's famous for.. | Twas this picture that inspired our reunion (which did include Braden) we had on March 10th, 2012 downtown on Massachusetts Ave.
We felt it was only right to recreate this photo (though they moved the head over a little) | And then do something silly.
We basically just walked around a lot and looked inside a couple cute little stores, one of which, was Mass Ave Toys, which is the coolest toy store I've ever been to. Then we got some snacks and went back to Lucy's and kicked a ball around for a while. It was so nice to see them again. At that point it'd been almost a year since I'd seen any of them at all. They are truly awesome people! | Lucy yelling at the boys to stop goofing around; as always, haha
This was so cute I just had to take a picture of it. Lucy and I found out (the hard way) that it does not infact rotate, as the circular platform it sits on implies. | Beautiful mural
On March 16th, 2012 Lacey took me to the St.Patrick's Day parade downtown. Which was my first parade. It was pretty cool.
On April 14th, Terri and I rode down to Bloomington with our new-found hooping buddies Kortney and Lauren for an LED hoop jam in celebration of The Hudsucker Posse's 3rd hoopiversary. | (photo of the Hudsuckers that night before the party began)
It was my first official hoop jam, and it was absolutely awesome!! The energy there was amazingly.. amazing. It was very surreal, with the smoke and the lights and the 'unts unts unts unts' Very fun. I'm glad to have finally gotten into the hooping community! | This is the only picture we got of any of us. (right to left: Lauren, Me, Terri, Kortney)
One night, Lacey grabbed my camera and started snapping away- this is what resulted....
On June 10th, Katie, Nick, Steve and I went downtown to the Circle where the guys provided music as Suicides for Sonnets and I hooped and Katie provided a comfortable audience. It was sooooo nice. | Steve tried to hula hoop.
Only got a few actual pictures, but took screenshots from the hooping video I recorded
 Cute things!!
Terri and I went hooping at Sarah T. park in Beech Grove in June | We only had Terri's cell phone camera, so the pictures are kind of bad.. | Me | Terri
Terri and the kids and I went on a little trip to Sarah T Bolton park one lovely summer day. It was intended to just be a day of hooping in the park, but turned into a mini adventure. | The kids had such a great time hiking through the woods.
We went to the gardens and conservatory at the zoo. It was so beautiful! Definitely going back there as soon as it get's warm again and taking my hoop! (Unfortunately Herpes A.K.A. Enema Dan A.K.A. Jonah also came)
Halloween 2012 | This year I spent Halloween with Terri. And we dressed up as goth/steampunk/alternative Alice and the Queen of hearts. | Lydia went as Black Cat and Wes was Spider-Man. So cute!
Terri's costume was great. As was her makeup. The crown was super cool. | We went to Garfield Park's Halloween festival. Everyone made pumpkins and we rode a hayride. | (Lucas's pumpkin looked like Ryuk)
I went to a couple workshops over November and December. The first one was Anah Reichenbach's (A.K.A. Hoopalcious) *Foundation*Flow*Flair* workshop. Which was an amazing experience and my first real workshop. | Terri! | -->
She taught us about getting back to the basics of hooping, the dance. We learned about focusing on what other parts of our body were doing while waist hooping. It was a really fun (and tiring) workshop. | This girl is a belly dancer. I saw her at GenCon the summer before the workshop, and it was cool to recognize her and talk to her. Apparently she's a gamer too. A gaming belly dancer. Nice. | This chick lived on a bus. Which I think is wicked! | <-- | -->
Terri and I went to Brecken's Floor Tour workshop last weekend (Dec. 8th-9th). It was so amazing! Meeting Brecken was so cool, she's such a generally awesome person, super down to Earth and funny as shit. And not only is Brecken one of Terri and I's biggest inspirations, but she was also the reason we found CocoRosie which came to be one of our favorite bands.
The whole workshop was about hooping on the floor. It was so cool. We learned about all of the rainbows in our body, even our ass rainbows., and making proper chicken wings and being C-Stars. Very fun. | She taught us how to get to the floor elegantly (though we were not too elegant) How to get up from the floor. All of us were bruised, sore, exhausted and extremely inspired by the end. | Getting onto the floor and rolling around on it was one thing, but then we added hoops and it got a million times harder and more fun.
That party at Lynn's house was super super fun! It was so cool to party with Brecken! | It's like if you were jamming with your favorite band. That's how it was to hoop with Brecken
And we jammed during break on the second day of the workshop.
The workshop was an overall awesome experience. I made some new friends, (including Brecken) And, being away for the whole weekend and staying a hotel, seriously felt like a vacation for me. And I'm really excited about adding floor hooping into my dance and experiencing that next level of letting out emotion
Roller Derby hoop performance! | The Indy hoopers were invited to perform during halftime of the Naptown Roller Girls bout.
It was such an awesome experience for me. Just a few months back I got really into roller derby, but I never thought I'd really be able to go to a bout! (I want to be a roller girl even more now, ha.) | Getting hype before we go out! | Whoooooo!!! First performance!!
 That is all.
