 Table of Contents Where I'm From.......................pg.1 Self Respect................................pg.2 My Mother's Kitchen.........pg.3 Language Arts..........................pg.4

I’m from Georgia, A southern state, From the northern country, Called USA I was born, On February On 1997 In the 24th day I’m from a house, That’s long forgotten, But held many memories, Of long lost games, long lost fun The shade of the trees shadowed in out play The breeze tickled our skin These were the long lost days, Of long lost laughter, And long lost friends I’m from a place that moves too much One, two, three, Caring less each time, Wondering where to go, And making friends all over I feel sad, Leaving behind my friends I feel sad To know I have none left No more friends from the old days, No more hope of good times

I’m like a bird! I fly to and fro I am the clouds! With nowhere to go I haven’t seen my life As something boring There ought to be something To keep me going But it seems that I keep leaving And in the end, The places I call home, The place where I was from Will fade Into Nothing | Where I'm From

Self-Respect is something you have Something you need Something to understand Self-Respect needs to be inside you Radiating from within And something to see Self-Respect shows when you Take care of yourself and others And know you limits, and know your goals Self-Respect is when you see you value When you do things you know you can And stretch further because you want the best for yourself Self-Respect is gone when you Do what’s not needed, what you hate, what isn’t you It’s gone when you stop going forward It’s gone when you start to step backward, And regret your mistakes Many people do it, Many people lose it, But it’s easy for you to take it back, When all you need is to Take a look in the mirror, And see what’s ahead

 Self-Respect

 My Mother's Kitchen

The soft wind flows through the window Wafting through the kitchen The wondrous oven that cooks the food The wondrous smells of the chicken baking My mother cutting the leafy greens My aunt walked into the kitchen door Grabbed the chicken out of the oven Took a knife Of my deceased great grandmother And artfully cut into pretty pieces The chicken that was in the oven My mother yelled out Clutching her finger Blood starts to well And my aunt helped her Walking away From the chicken, In the oven After a while, They finally calmed down Went back to work And started to make, The green beans, the salad, The soup and the Rice To go along, With the chicken in the Oven All was well when they were done Served a good platter, Was worse to none We ate all of it Every morsel, Of the delicious Chicken, That was laid On the table

 Language Arts
