S: Seasons of Change

BC: Remember to always Stay Gold

FC: Stay Gold | S.E.Hinton Realistic Fiction

Ali Grant Burford Period 1 Feb. 3, 2011

There I was, stuck in the fire risking my life for those kids. I was coughing out and breathing in smoke, which made me slow down. Me, Johnny, and Dally were running out of air. BOOM! I was lying on the ground because Dally has a strong push, and we both were out, but we did not think about Johnny. CRASH! The building is burned to ashes and our faces went blank. Johnny, are you alright! Right then I knew I might lose my Best Friend.

Spring is Here | The setting for this story is in the 1960's in Tulsa Oklahoma.

This is Darrel. Everyone calls him Darry for short. Darry is the oldest out of all of the greasers. He is twenty years old and has blazing ice cold eyes, with a hatred for the world. Sodapop and Ponyboy are his brothers he takes care of. He works two jobs just to help them all survive. He does a lot for all he can.

You tend to lose the ones you love most | This here is Sodapop. He is eighteen and the second oldest out of the gang. He has dark golden hair and dark brown eyes. Since his parents died, he is a high school drop out, but only to help Darry with all of the bills. He works as a car mechanic and helps keep Ponyboy in school. | The small picture on the right is Ponyboy. He is fourteen, so you could say he's the youngest out of the greasers. He has red brown hair and greenish-gray eyes. He goes to school, but he is a lot like Soda. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing. | The other picture is Johnny Cade. He is the so called sick puppy dog of the whole group. He is six-teen and has dark brown eyes and he has jet black hair. When this dude gets hurt or jumped the whole gang goes ballistic!

I hope you Stay Gold and make new. | This here is Dallas Winston. Everyone calls him Dally though. He is the bad, lean, tough guy of the guys. He has blonde almost white hair and he has blazing blue eyes. He has been arrested so many times, but the first time ever was when he was ten years old. | This is Two-bit. He is eighteen years old just like Soda. He likes hanging with the men a lot and he also has Gray eyes. He has his own switchblade that is his best friend except when he lends it to Dally who I don't think ever returns it.

The Greasers! | Some of the most important parts are the saddest parts

Some of the most important parts of this book to me are the times when The Greasers won the rumble over Paul's gang. Another important part was when Darry slaps Ponyboy and him and Johnny run away together. Another part is when Dally, Johnny, and Pony were saving the children from the fire inside the old, abandoned church. The last two important parts to me were when Johnny and Dally past away. Even though those were the saddest times, they helped bring the book together.

The most important lesson to me is the poem Johnny left Ponyboy when he died. It said "Stay Gold". That means when you are alive just like a leave on a tree that just grew, you are a person of interest. You have to go through thick and thin to get to that perfect spot. When the heavens call, just go but always remember to Stay Gold. | Sometimes First..can be Last

 Lasting Memories...

"An open home, an open heart, here grows a bountiful harvest."

Ponyboy's future will hold a great ordeal. He will become a tremendous writer and tell the stories he has lived out through his boy years. He will write a wonderful essay for another teacher. His life will become a great, and successful one at that. Stay Gold!

I personally loved this spectacular novel because of the conflict. There were so many conflicts and problems over and over to which I couldn't stop reading. I usually do not like to read books...at all..but there is something about this book that I love. Ok, this part isn't so easy. I really liked everything about this book, but the only thing that I did not like about it was when Johnny died, and it was a little unusual when Dally died as well. Other than that, it was a really nice novel!

The more you laugh, the longer you live.

These Are The Moments I Live For

 2011

 Warm & Cozy

wonderland | Dashing Through the Snow

Home is where there's someone to love, and someone to love us.
