1: Isaiah McCommons 5-11-09

2: As the story begans it seems as if their is only two boys on the island after the plain crashes.

3: The two boys find a conch Piggy shows Ralph how it makes a loud sound when you blow in to it.

4: when the conch was blown all the boys that where on the plan started to come from all over

5: When all the boys gather they began to thInk about recsue someone give the idea to make a fire on top of the island. They picked 5 boys to hick to go.

6: jack needs to start a fire so he stills piggy's glasses

7: when Ralph and his friends go to see jack about getting piggy's glasses, piggy is killed in the heat of the argument.

8: Ralph and Jack began to have two different ways of thinking. jack started his own trib and started to take over

10: after coming from the big head simon was kill by all the boys on the island when they were do a victory dance.

11: The story takes place on a remote island some where off the cost of England. The boys faced many conflicts on the island such as food, selter, and ways to get off the island. over time some boys be came hunters some builder, and they keep a fire on top of the island to signal for resue. THEMES civilization vs. savagery loss of innoncece

12: Ralph -Ralph attempts to coordinate the boys' efforts to build a miniature civilization on the island until they can be rescued. Ralph represents human beings' civilizing instinct, as opposed to the savage instinct that Jack embodies. Jack -Jack becomes the leader of the hunters but longs for total power and becomes increasingly wild, barbaric, and cruel as the novel progresses. Jack, adept at manipulating the other boys, represents the instinct of savagery within human beings, as opposed to the civilizing instinct Ralph represents. Simon -Simon is the only character whose sense of morality does not seem to have been imposed by society. Simon represents a kind of natural goodness, as opposed to the unbridled evil of Jack and the imposed morality of civilization represented by Ralph and Piggy. Piggy - Piggy represents the scientific, rational side of civilization.
