Caribbean Cruise cancelled!!! Misadventure. Plan B: Oceanfront hotel in Sarasota, FL where we watch huge, beautiful birds dive into the water right in front of us!
Mixon Farms in Bradenton, FL grows juice oranges. | Our tour guide takes care of some interesting animals....
This wild raccoon won't normally let our guide come into the cage. However, we learned that he can be bribed with a peanut butter cracker. Good to know.
Speak Parseltongue? | See the scars on his hands? He still loves these animals. Kamil was the only brave volunteer to hold this Burmese python.
 Miami Beach
Roberto took us to a place he loves for dinner in Miami. | Happy Birthday!
We found flowers in the shape of a heart in our room. | We stayed at Kapp's Place in downtown San Jose. Every corner of the place is decorated with charming art and tile.
Soda Isabel's, two blocks from Kapp's Place, was our favorite place to eat. Costa Rican tipical plates including ollo de carne and gallo pinto con huevos. Yum! It was a challenge figuring out how to eat the soup but it was so good we made stew when we got home.
Zip-Lining through the Rainforest in San Lorenzo
Cabinas Jacaranda was our jungle retreat while in Puerto Viejo. We enjoyed the private hammock outside our cabin, mosquito net for our bed, and lizard friends that inhabited our cabin. Yes... lizard friends.
Beaches were so beautiful that even though it rained, we rented bikes to go to the beach and rented boogie boards to catch the waves. Party ended, however, when we got caught in a rip current. Misadventure. Now we know what rip currents are. The next day since our camera was stolen (another misadventure), we headed back to San Jose. The bus was packed and took six hours. It was good to be home ageain at Kapp's.
INBioparque Todo Naturaleza Watch out for the animals that are walking around freely in this beautiful wildlife sanctuary.
We were startled by some colorful giant iguanas that were leisurely walking along the sidewalk. We were surrounded by many species of butterflies in the garden and our favorite was watching a very slow and sluggish sloth climb just two feet up a tree. Not as cute as a koala but definitely adorable.
Last day of vacation, shopping in Mercado Central where we drank some local coffee. We borrowed some pictures from the web since our camera was stolen but we were able to capture a lot of memories. We will never forget this adventure. We hope you enjoyed the trip!
