CHICAGO The very first part of our trip! We left on Sunday, July 1st, 2012 at 3pm. After about 3 hours we looked out the bus windows to see this beautiful sight! The city of Chicago, Illinois. We ate at Gino's East Pizza and spend the night at a Red Roof Inn.
Chicago O'Hare Airport We woke up around 5am the morning of July 2nd. We packed up the bus and Mr. Molda drove us to the airport. Everything went smoothly and we were ready to head off to Panama City!
Travel Travel Travel After making it through the Chicago airport we had smooth flights! Everyone was getting more and more excited the closer we got.
WE MADE IT! | After a full day of waiting in airports, flying in planes, and riding on buses, we finally made it to Recife! We were all so excited to land that last plane. The Cook family and Emma Zuidema met us in the airport around 1:00 am. We were able to catch up with them for a while before heading to the hotel. We stayed in the Dan Inn that night and headed out early Tuesday morning to go to camp.
These were some of our first sights of Camp Paradise when we pulled in!
 JUNIOR WEEK
JUNIOR WEEK Our first week at camp was with the Junior campers. It was so fun to get to know the kids. They were so energetic and we had a blast!
 THEME NIGHTS
THEME NIGHTS One of the highlights of our day would always be dinner. Every night there was a different theme that you were supposed to dress up as. There was superhero night, mismatch night, crazy hair night, and professions night. Our group loved dressing up and it was always a fun way to connect with the kids.
 WEEKEND FUN
On the weekends we got a little bit of time to hang out at the beach! The waves were huge and the water felt amazing! We all had so much fun!
 BEAUTIFUL SIGHTS
SENIOR WEEK Senior week was so much fun. We were amazed at the close friendships we built in only 1 week! So many great friends were made, ones that will never ever be forgotten.
 TEAM BONDING
After the most amazing 2 weeks of our lives, it was time to head home. After church, we ate dinner at the Cook's house then headed to the airport. Many of our Brazilian friends met us at the airport. They hung out with us while we checked in all our bags, but before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. Through all the hugs and kisses, many tears were shed. It was crazy to think of the amazing friendships that were formed in only 2 weeks. | HEADING HOME
ONE LIFE ONE GOD ONE CHANGE | THE STORY OF MILA Camila Duda was a girl that I had the opportunity to meet at Camp Paradise. I had been praying that God would use me during this trip, and He did, through Mila. We were walking around one day during free time and I asked her what God had been doing in her life. She tried to share with me all the struggles in her life, although it was hard because of the language barrier. She told me about her non-christian family, and what a struggle that was. She also shared with me that she was planning to leave the church, and that she had fallen into a lifestyle of alcohol, drugs, and partying. I was able to talk and pray with her about these things but I didn't see much of a change in her from what I had said. I was getting discouraged as to how God was going to use me in Brazil, because the week was almost over. But, He had a plan. After chapel that evening I was about to leave when Mila ran up to me crying and grabbed me in a hug. Tricia Cook (one of the missionary's daughters) was with her. All Mila could say was "Thank you, Thank you", but Tricia was able to better explain. She said that through the speaker and I, God had really worked in Mila's heart that night. She had decided to not give up on the church and to stay strong in her faith. I was so thankful that God had shown me how he had used me in Mila's life that week. Please continue to keep her in your prayers!
