On Dean's 3rd birthday, we began our journey from Cincinnati to San Francisco.
Dean was really excited about his first plane ride, but Daddy had made himself sick worrying about getting sick. He was also nervous about the logistics of getting from the airport to our hotel downtown with Dean (and our luggage).
We're leavin' on a jet plane...
Dean LOVED riding the cable cars, which we used to get around town.
 Down by the Bay
We made several trips to Pier 39 to watch the silly sea lions.
They were one of our favorite attractions!
Dean & Momma visited the Aquarium of the Bay twice using our City Passes. It was a great place to pass time while Daddy was at his conference.
Dean & Momma took a boat tour. It went underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Daddy was not sad about missing this excursion.
The boat also past Alcatraz Island.
Dean & Momma rode the city bus to the Exploratorium for a morning of fun.
We enjoyed exploring and eating dinner in Chinatown.
A little play time at the park...
We took a tour of San Francisco on a double-decker bus. Dean & Momma started the tour at the pier. | Daddy joined the tour downtown after his JavaOne conference. Getting on the same bus was not easy!
We hopped off the bus at the California Academy of Sciences Museum.
 Buildings around San Francisco
We rode over the Golden Gate Bridge on top of the tour bus. It was windy!
 The very crooked Lombard Street
A walking tour of North Beach was included with the bus tour.
Dean insisted on taking a taxi to Coit Tower. We had done every other form of transportation, so why not? It was the scariest ride we had!
Dean and Momma rode the two-story carousel.
Parc 55 hotel was a great place to stay in the city, but we wanted to see some of nature's beauty. So, we rented a car and headed to Yosemite National Park for the last two days of our trip.
Poor little man was just not feeling well. We spent nearly all of our last day waiting to see a doctor. It was a good thing we did because both of his ears were infected.
Daddy really wanted to see the giant sequoia trees, so we ended up racing through the forest in the dark. Scary!!!
By the end of the trip, we were dreaming of our next adventure in California!
