S: California Trip 2012
BC: Too bad our trip must end. Thanks California and Disney for a great time! Let's do it again real soon.
FC: California Trip/Disney Cruise October 4-14, 2012
Jim and Teresa's Excellent California Adventure Trip taken October 4 - 14, 2012 Three days in Los Angeles and then Seven Day Cruise
Day 1: Arrival Rent a car Farmers Market for Lunch VIP Tour of Warner Brothers Studio
Tour of Warner Brothers Studios, Burbank, CA Several sound stages: Friends, Pretty Little Liars, and The Mentalist | Got to see lots of famous cars used in shows and movies
Looks like Teresa is trying to push Jim in front of the Hogwarts train. | Pretty neat to walk the same areas where classics such as My Fair Lady was filmed. Interesting to see homage to Clint Eastwood Firefox in museum since that is the movie from our first date. After our tour, we headed to The SmokeHouse, a famous steakhouse where you are just as likely to see celebrities as regular citizens. We sat just beside George Clooney's favorite booth!
After our stay in Culver City, we head to Santa Monica. We have booked a Day in LA tour courtesy of the Rasta Bus. We are off to see every thing a tourist must see in LA!
First Stop: Venice Beach | Basketball court from White Men Can't Jump | Be aware if you are approached by folks in scrubs. They are trying to get you a doctor appointment for medical marijuana. | Nice Boardwalk for walking and biking | Most famous for Muscle Beach...the workout area to see and be seen.
Drive through neighborhoods of famous celebrities, visit to Greystone Estate, and then on to Rodeo Drive.
After lunch at the Farmer's Market, it is off to Griffith Park. | Wish we had more time to spend here.
Next stop...Hollywood. What's a visit to LA without that right? Well, to say it was interesting is an understatement. Sorta like being in a huge crowd at the Cleveland County Fair with people trying to get you to give them money. Least favorite of our stops.
Final stop is a return to Santa Monica. Since we arrive just in time for 5 o'clock traffic, we decide to hang around and explore. | After eating dinner at Enterprise Fish Co., we head to San Pedro for the night.
It is Saturday, and we head to the Aquarium of The Pacific and then over to tour the Queen Mary. Jim and I both think the Atlanta Aquarium is better.
Our huge two room suite at San Pedro Hotel & Suites. Tons of space, two TVs, and a fireplace. Very nice for our two night stay.
Cruise day has arrived. We are shuttled over to the World Cruise Pier. Disney is very organized as we are given a boarding time and there is really not a wait. | All Aboard!
Disney announces your arrival as you step onto the ship. After a fabulous buffet lunch, we call home. | Ship is pretty fancy and looks more like a hotel than a ship.
Stateroom 6152, our home for the next seven days.

The conductor of the trolley was so much fun with a super personality. He made for a great tour as he showed us the sites.
Balboa Park to Little Italy to Old Town and the most haunted house in the USA.
Pirate Night! So another deck party topped off with fireworks. Disney is the only ship that does fireworks at sea. | After the deck party, is the "midnight" buffet. Turkey leg anyone?
Saturday, October 13. Final port stop before heading home is Ensenada, Mexico. Jim and I decide to pursue our different interest here. Winery visit for Jim and horseback riding for Teresa.
After an hour and half ride, we are ready to head to the saloon for a cold drink!
Jim visited two wineries, one large commercial winery and the second a smaller, organic winery. He learned a lot about the wine process.
